@Abderamus That was far more reasonable. If you argued with others as you did here I think it would lead to more fruitful discussion.

As for Jackanape's attitude, I think they were being standoffish because they saw the OP's statement as matching the 'pattern of behaviour' of a bad faith actor, and 'finished the sentence' of what Jack thought they meant . Perhaps that was not the best way to start a discussion.

As for your preferences, again I have no problem with your or anyone else's preferences, so long as they don't tangible harm to oneself or others.
