It's a fun little charming game that's a great way to kill a few minutes every once and a while, while it's fairly simplistic it doesn't really need to be more complicated than it is and I think that's always a sign of a well made game!

Early Access Review
If you loved risk of rain 1 you'll probably have a blast with this game as well. The mechanics make a near seamless transition to 3d with more fun abilities added to mix things up and make it an all around smoother experience. There's also lots of new items that weren't in the previous game to play with and exploit. While it does feel a little bit easier than RoR1 it's still offers it's challenges at higher difficulties.

This game is something else. It's fast paced, it's gory and it's ugly and holy cow is it fun. There's something viscerally satisfying about running into a room bashing a guys head in with a crowbar, grabbing his shot gun and blasting a hole in another six guys just as they round the corner.

This is a game that I had absolutely no difficulty getting lost in. The writing was incredible, the story was fun, the characters memorable. And the mechanics... holy cow, so many different ways to play and approach the same task. Sure, lots of games say "Play it your way!' But this game damn well means it. It's truly a masterpiece and I highly recommend it to any fan of the rpg genre.

AM is the only character that has ever hated humans as much as I do
doing the math that's 3.3614108196336 *10^80 hate per second.

Do you know how badly I wanted to say "WOW! That game was amazing! I love it and recommend buying it! Ia! Cthulhu ftagn!"
I wanted to say that very badly, but I can't.
Why you ask?
Because the game is simply unplayable. I am a huge fan of H.P. Lovecraft's work and the Cthulhu mythos, and being the gamer that I am was delighted to find a Cthulhu themed game on steam. Sure at the time there were lots of people saying that this game was buggy and bad in the recommendations and people complaining about bugs in the community feed. But I tried my best to ignore those people and think "Oh, it probably won't happen to me, I'm sure this game is great!" Not too far into the game though it became very unclear about what the current objective was or how to go about it, usually making it something that no one would ever think about being helpful to the plot. But I kept thinking "Oh, I'm sure it will get better." It didn't. I had to look up a walk-through about every five minutes because of how unclear the objectives get. I normally don't resort to looking up walk-throughs unless I have been wandering around the same area for an hour straight. The game was buggy as hell, and I somehow convinced myself to make it all the way through the game... it took way more willpower than it should have. That's how unplayable it is! the movement is buggy and because of it I would often fall of a ledge and break my legs; aiming feels strange; and voice acting is amusingly bad.
On The bright side however the plot was interesting, I just wish that it could have been in a better game, the plot of the game doesn't deserve the horrible game play that this game has.

It pains me to say this, but I really cannot recommend buying this game

before you buy this dlc you have to ask yourself one question and on question only,

EXPLOSIONS?

This dlc is amazing, packed with lots of humor and fun new weapons, and what not.
I would strongly suggest buying this dlc, the game becomes so much more fun with it!

I really like it, sure it is a bit buggy (only a little), but it's still REALLY FUN!
