There's a lot to like about this game, a lot that is done well and made for an enjoyable adventure. Avoiding spoilders, there's a few parts I felt were a misstep, one of which was genuinely upsetting early on in the game.

What kills this game for me is the ending. It's in line with Monkey Island 2, but doesn't have the luxury of being unexpected or the extra layers that make it seem more sinister. This just leans on unreliable narrator for its ending and feels more like a copout. They even give you a quiet moment to reflect, which just makes me certain that this game has to sit as my least favorite of the series.

This is a solid tactics game with a good chunk of customization for mechs. The combat is very satisfying and the star of the show. You have upgrades for your mobile base and the ability to craft new equipment instead of always salvaging it. Unfortunately the story for the game suffers by being terribly generic and it's easy to get inundated with parts that are only slightly better than your current setup. The game offers a demo giving you the tutorial and a show of what to expect. That alone is definitely worth playing.

Fun little language puzzler with a strong art style and some stealth sections. Half the fun is figuring out the narrative by deciphering the language, though that's the strength of the story. The revelation isn't earth shattering, but a makes for a decent ending. The puzzling out the language is mostly satisfying, but I did hit two puzzles that gave me issues. One wanted me to pick a symbol I hadn't found yet and another I resorted to the brute force method of just trying every combination until something worked. That's only two puzzles out of the entire game, a game which kept me coming back to experience the music, the visuals, and enjoy deciphering and translating these made up languages. I'd definitely recommend it if you're into puzzle games or like language puzzles.

If you like tactics games and dig giant robots, this is a fantastic blend of the two.

Do you want to shoot bugs?
Do you want to shoot mecha bugs?

Then this is the game for you!

But seriously, this game is choose your power armor, choose your guns, then go blow up insects and three city blocks. That's been fun so far, but I can forsee this game getting very repetitive as the levels tend to be "go here and hold out till you a) are told to go elsewhere or b) kill everything." This game does one thing (kill giant robo bugs) and does it well.

Also bonus points for occasional mecha showing up that you can pilot.
