TL;DR

Was an alpha when released, is now playable and adds a fair bit of extra content. Much better engineering system then ships & hopefully on foot Thargoids to come.

The culmination of all the previous games with all the features we wanted (more then 2 player campaigns included).

Elite Dangerous is one of the most captivating games I have ever played.
From the amazing graphics and VR compatibility, to the smooth and fun gameplay, there isn't any real negative things I can say about the game.
Though of course, I would be remiss if I didn't list at least some downfalls.
Connection/Dropping out can occur often and can get frustrating.
The instancing issues can be painful when trying to organise events in squadrons.
Lack of squadron control, activities and organisation.
Normal weaponry not being able to damage the Thargoid Interceptors AT ALL.

Otherwise, the fighters, the ships, graphics and general gameplay is amazing. You can either do it solo or get into a squadron with anyone and go from there.
