I'd recommend this game with the caveat that you shouldn't expect to find a lot of people while playing. the game is pretty dead these days it seems.

THAT BEING SAID, there are still many settlements and cities left over to explore at your leisure. the gameplay loop is still intact and quite satisfying, though I wish there was a way to move a bit faster. go into the game expecting something akin to minecraft singleplayer in many different worlds (or bring some friends if you want) with the occasional encounter with another player. there's a lot of cool stuff to find!

There's no rain but I sure feel the risk of it

Not bad, but a game like this lives or dies by its gunplay. unfortunately the gunplay in this game is kinda trash. constant A+D shuffle fights with people that drag on way too long. guns don't do enough damage to players OR hostile NPCs (almost makes me miss tarkov's near instant kills) and feel like they barely have any impact (save for a few guns i.e. the spinfusor). I rarely leave a gunfight satisfied, it always just feels like a stroke of dumb luck.

the game is headed in the right direction. art and sound is very good, it's not terribly often that you'll be stuck without a decent weapon, and the weapons feel decently balanced overall for what it's worth. it's just that this game needs some serious fundamental combat improvements (and maybe a few less progress bars).

Edit: I've found that where this game lacks in fulfilling one-on-one combat, the stealth shines through. it's quite satisfying to shoot out lights and carefully sneak past enemies to potentially get the jump on someone or avoid a confrontation altogether. I'll keep the review as negative as I do genuinely think that the clunky combat holds this game back but consider giving the game a try regardless.

travis touchdown is literally me. I need you to understand that this sleazy ♥♥♥♥ is so similar in looks, personality, and especially degeneracy to myself that I cannot walk outside anymore without proclaiming to the world that I am going to be the #1 assassin. I walk up to a woman walking her dog, let out my most passionate "STRAWBERRY ON THE SHORTCAKE," take out my plastic lightsaber and subsequently beat her senseless with it. The dog is unharmed but hes on thin ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ice

Who would've thought that deciding to work with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ quake 1 engine would prove to be a bold decision
