It's a good game.

It has its ups and down but either straight vanilla or modded it's truly a unique experience.
CK3 hits the sweet-spot between a grand strategy and RPG.

I totally recommend going ironman the first couple of games.
Laern from your mistakes and don't fret playing as a "bad" ruler.

There are compensations that are truly worth the experience of being a mad ruler.
