An ok survival/crafting game with an extraction style play loop.
Only worth it on discount.
I find the devs are either really arrogant or delusional as they made so many poor design decisions but in their vlogs they talk as if they have reinvented the genre and made something amazing.

Open world play is incredibly boring because it was something they added as an afterthought. It just feels empty and without purpose.
The extraction mission play loop 'campaign' gets annoying after a while because every time you land on the planet you have to craft everything from scratch. Even if you land in the same location. So you spend hours of real time building up again and again just to go and do the missions.

Lots and lots of talking. This is clearly asian style rpg.
The tactical combat is sub-par. Poor UI and clunky navigation/options. Limited ability options such has no diagonal attack, no flanking, no over-watch,...
Refunded.

Finally played it in 2024. The story is really uninspired and the boss fights are boring.
I can see that back when it came out it had some interesting elements like the looter+shooter element.

Pre-ordered. No widescreen option at launch. lol?
The player character takes up 1/3 of my screen so I can't even see enemies approaching. LOL
Negative review until patched so people don't buy yet if this will affect them.

The low quality graphics, ugly menus, clunky interface and action animations, unnecessarily complicated crafting/researching...
It is not for me.

As much as I love that they added the Sisters they are incredibly weak vs other factions. The game overall has terrible balancing but the Sisters are quite disappointing.

After 7 years I finally got this game on a sale. I thought it was just another open world game...
I did not expect the story to be so good!
Buy it even if are a fan of open world collect-a-tons. Focus on the main story.

It is 100% random. This is not a game system. It is just a random outcome generator.
I know about probability and managing odds. This is not it. You can go to a planet rich on fuel have a random event destroy your probe and now you cant get fuel and you are stranded in space. Game over.
Personally I do not get the appeal.

For most of my play I was dismissing some text as having typos. Then I realized it was on purpose they used 'they' as pronoun for a couple of characters.
