I came into A Way Out with high expectations that this game would have a great story and a fun co-op experience, based on the abundant claims boasting that these were the experiences that we should expect to find throughout the game's narrative. The only thing my co-op partner and I found in this grossly overpraised game is, at best, subpar voice acting, pairing up nicely with the terrible writing, combat sections, and mini-games throughout the entirety of the game. Along with these blemishes is one of the most poorly implemented plot twists I’ve ever had the displeasure of experiencing, through which the game doesn’t even give the players time to play through this major revelation before it peters out almost instantly, leaving you and your partner sitting there asking each other, "Is that really it?"

Both a product of its time and ahead of its time, truly one of the greatest games ever made.
