~40 hour review update: New patch fix lots, yay

30 hour review update: Ran into my first critical game-breaking bug which is the Unreal Engine crash "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION reading address 0x0000000000000000" which was causing me to be unable to load any saves (Manual or otherwise) after a specific point in the game. After much trial and error, I isolated it to Quiet's side-quest that takes you to Cordon. Ignoring that quest, I was able to explore Cordon without issue and have not had further issues loading saves. I'm certain it'll be addressed by GSC soon enough! My Zone adventure continues.

20 hour review update: Just got to Zaton, love how they revamped the place from CoP. My only gripe so far is weather happens too frequently and the day/night cycle is too short (personal preference). I solved this with some VERY easy modding, but also put in a request to have it as a variable in the game settings for convenience. Crashed a couple of times upon death, but the shader compiling is very quick since it's been cached so many times in my vram, so it's really a non-issue. No more crashing than Anomaly, and fewer crashes so far compared to Gamma

10 hour review update: Still great, loving it. Sucks that Radeon GPUs haven't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ their driver update yet, but my Nvidia card is LOVING IT. Small hiccups now and again inside trader camps, but nothing worse than a couple seconds.

Genuinely this game is fantastic. I think the recommended specs are overestimated. I've got a 2070S and Ryzen 5700 and I'm running 1440p on high settings without issues. Averaging more than 60fps as well. Only time I ran into any technical snag so far was when water reflections were loading for the first time, after that it ran smooth as silk.

Gameplay wise, so far I have no complaints! It feels like STALKER in the modern age with a few QOL improvements that I'm sure the CBT-enjoyer superfans will hate (Skyrim-esque compass at the top of screen with current quest-marker, for example) but honestly I think they're a welcome improvement. The game is still punishing and unforgiving, and rightly so. A Flesh took nearly 2/3rds of my HP with one charge which I think is fair since they're basically just little four-legged tanks crashing into you.

Overall, I'm THRILLED that GSC put the level of effort into this game that they did and I can't wait to explore the rest of the Zone.

Unironically one of the best games I've ever played.

Solid deck builder, actually pretty fun.

Story was wack but still entertaining.

If you're just tryna beat it, there's an option to skip fights if you lose and reload your auto save.

Took about 2 hours to beat one ending and if you're too lazy to 100% it, there's an option to unlock all scenes after you've beaten at least one route.

Decent game overall. 8/10

The quintessential text-based smut RPG with hours of good content and good "content" y'know? The combat system is smooth, the storylines are great, the characters are interesting. Seriously what's not to love?

Bonus points if you play it in a group call with the boys and take turns narrating the characters.
