Old review: So I was waiting for the official launch to post my review, and that day has finally come so here it is!

PUBG is a solid Battle Royale / Hunger Games style game with you and up to 98 other people air dropping onto an island (Or desert!) to fight for survival in a last-man standing deathmatch. It caters to veterans of more realistic shooters like Arma, as opposed to Call of Duty since the distances you'll be engaging most people in is quite large. That said, it does get a bit frantic in close quarters, so run and gun tactics are totally viable when in those situations. Prior to launch, the game was a bit clunky at times, seeming to crash every 5th game on rigs that are not 100% up to snuff, but with the 1.0 update, there has been a large amount of optimization and (as of writing this review) I have not crashed once, despite playing on some definitely dated hardware.

The main thing I can recommend for new players is patience. It's gonna take some time to adjust to the game and learn its nuances. There's no aim-assist like you'd find in other FPS games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, so you gotta get skilled at hitting your targets by yourself, and realizing that the guns have a more realistic recoil pattern than games like Counter Strike. An AK is gonna kick like a horse and full-auto spray with any weapon is gonna be difficult to hit anything at a range greater than 50m. That said, it heavily rewards those with the patience and ability to adapt to its unique style of gameplay.

Definitely play this game if you like a challenging multiplayer shooter.

I'm really enjoying Legend so far. It's like Endless Space had a baby with Warlock, and then kept a lot of the best of both games. Seems to be a bit buggy though at some points. Randomly textures started failing (fixed upon a game restart, didn't affect save file) and more recently I've had my save crash upon load (somewhere around turn 410). Not sure what's causing it so if a dev wants the save, I'll send it.

Pros:
Intuitive combat system makes for interesting gameplay, especially when reinforcements are involved.
Summer/Winter shift forces the economy to remain dynamic, and winter turns can be difficult to struggle through.
AI Diplomacy works pretty well, though the values of tech/resources could be rebalanced.
Very customizable game settings: no two worlds will be the same (unless they use the same seed)
Research/Tech tree is expansive, and enables for longer paced games if needed
Unit customization is awesome. You can create new units from the templates of the old ones, but with new gear. It's cool.

Cons:
Occasional crash issues (will update review when resolved)
Not as much unit variety as I'd like to see. Sure you can create new versions of old units, but I want to see more variety in class.
Not that much variety in quests. A lot of them are just "Maintain this level of production for x resource for y turns". Gets kind of old.
Sometimes takes ages to find other players on the map, even with max players present. Not necessarily bad, just makes for some slow games every now and then.

Overall:
Great 4x game with plenty of things to keep you coming back. Even better with friends. I definitely recommend it.

This game is so freaking awesome. Not only is there a lot of humor, but you can also take a peek into the Developers' minds when you turn on commentary (Not like voice-over commentary, but little question marks you can 'talk to' for a little tidbit of info) and it really helps to see the game through their eyes. 10/10 will continually play again.
