There are few perfect games out there.

Terraria is one of them.

Early Access Review
Kingdoms came across my eyes almost as an accident. I was on another games store page, and it was in the "If you like this, you'll like:" section. At the time of this writing, I was at 13 hours played, but I just bought the game two days ago.

Wow, I did not expect to come across a gem like this. Kingdoms is close to what I would call my dream game. It has the laid the foundation for what I describe below, and that foundation is rock solid with a developer who is clearly passionate about this project. They deserve all the support they've gotten so far, and I'm hoping one more shining review can garner more support.

The AI are core to why this game can work. Each have their own motivations, tasks, long-term and short-term goals. Every item you come across in the game comes from an NPC that acquired that item from another NPC, who got that item from a manufacturer, who got the resources necessary from an NPC who physically walked to the resource, harvested it, and carried it back to his city to sell to NPC's who need raw materials. You have a real effect on the NPCs around you. If you start your own settlement, settlers will come and start building homes there. Start a small shop; throw wood, planks & stone in that store and watch your settlers expand rapidly. Without needing to spend real time harvesting resources, they can dedicate that time to actually building their home. (which also takes time)

A true, living sandbox where you can be King of the people or King of the Bandits. You can become a master trader, with your influence directly affecting the economies of settlements. The life of a blacksmith, providing the best weapons to a kingdom you want to support, or freelance for whoever pays the highest. It doesn't matter, the choice of how you play is yours.

The premise of this game is amazing. It is Early Access, but the developer posts frequent updates (2-4 times a week!) & honest and open with the community. It's someone I certainly want making a game like this, because if anyone is going to do it justice, it's them. The arc of where this game leads promises one of the best titles out there.
