Overall, this is a great action role-playing game. It is my first ever monster hunter game in the series, and I enjoyed it. The game contains various monsters to hunt/capture, each with its own combat system. Weapon and character customisation have different designs (14 weapon types; >100 craftable armour sets and weapons; 30 boss archetypes). The endgame content is good. However, it gets grindy(to min-max). You have many options to consider when taking on your next monster. The events are an excellent way to get unique items, with regular updates, including special events. The music is alright, but it does get repetitive in some areas. Most bugs have been patched before this review, with some remote connection issues here and there. Performance has improved after the patch. KB+M feels fine, but playing with a controller makes this game feel better. Character dialogue is mute and appears in a subtitle, which is OK, but it feels less immersive.

It's the best run-and-gun indie game I have played. The early 90s-inspired cartoon animations are excellent, with great detail on all levels. The music for individual levels is perfect and does not hinder you from the gameplay. Unique bosses that have their own challenge factor. Co-op is enjoyable and engaging. The game is relatively short. I completed it in 8-9 hours. The most complex challenges come when you finish and try to do runs without getting hit. For the price, it is definitely worth it. All the awards show how good this game is.

(Keeping in mind this is in Early Access)

- Loading Takes forever.
- Bad connection issues, i.e. connecting to servers.
- Object Collisions could hinder the gameplay experience.
- FPS drops/ stability.
- Objective spawn locations cause many spawn deaths.
- Maps do not rotate after the game ends/ rounds need to start with loaded players.
- Difficulty spotting enemies in certain lighting areas (May just be me).
- Weapons sound needs to be improved, and footsteps are hard to distinguish from friendly.



At its current state, it is good, with modern guns/gear that allows you to try something new with the armour system and damage models. It may look visually like a battlefield game, but it feels very different. Weapon mechanics feel more realistic. Immersive gameplay feels like a more realistic battleground. The music is excellent and does not hinder the user from gameplay. Maps are extensive, and there are many open areas to explore. Killstreaks like the UAV are very helpful in these big maps but can cause the game to be one-sided. Weapons/character customisation and skins/cosmetics are good. The progression system uses currency, but unlocking items takes a while.

Expanding on the characteristics from Origins. More extensive, better looking, improved existing mechanics. The story is engaging, with a fantastic protagonist. The RPG element is excellent. Newcomers can enjoy it. Improvements are needed on some of the dialogues. The recreation of ancient Greece is terrific worth the exploration after the main story.
