Early Access Review
I've put countless hours into this across mobile and switch.
It's a perfect game to just chill out with.
Tons of quests and things to collect if you're looking for something to do.

Definitely better with friends.

Early Access Review
This game used to be cool, it had a lot of promise as a Monster Hunter in VR game.

Until today, when the dev put out an update that completely changed the genre of game it is.
Now it is a turn based rpg with stats and levels. No real-time combat, no VR functionality besides touching floating menu's.

Worst part? There was no warning to this happening whatsoever. No asking the (small) community what they thought first.

Total bait and switch. Don't buy, even if you like the type of game it is now, there's no guarantee that it's going to be that a year from now.

Art-style is good.
Music is good.
Campaign is good, but it's missing co-op. (2022-12-14: Co-op has been added)
Forge is missing. (2022-12-14: Forge has been added and is easily the best forge has ever been)
Theater is an absolute broken mess.

The Gameplay itself is amazing, easily the most fun halo I've ever played... Until I play online.
Multiplayer is good until you go online.
Online you'll run into all kinds of connectivity issues regardless of how good your connection is.
Problems ranging from hit reg not going through, bullets not hitting when they definitely should (I'm looking at you, Skewer), dying around corners, explosions not harming enemies yet killing you, melee teleporting or melee just not connecting at all.
(2022-12-14: They have been making small updates here and there to help alleviate these issues, and there has been quite a bit of progress. There are still some desync issues, but they're much less troublesome than before.)

Then there's the progression system.

Progression is kind of a joke. You get a battle pass that you can keep forever (which is cool), but there is not enough in it to last for 6 months that each pass has been made for.
There's no classic "leveling" in this, you level up through challenges, which are mostly annoying as a lot of them force you into certain modes. Granted, these challenges have gotten better over time as the community raises hell about them, but they still have a long way to go when compared to MCC's challenges.
Why 343 didn't just do something like MCC will forever escape me.
(2022-12-14: Progression and challenges have been reworked and you now get a hefty chunk of xp per match, based on performance. Challenges are much easier to do now and don't force you into certain game modes nearly as much.)

Then there's customization. Before the game released it was hyped up as the most customizable halo to date.

It's not.

You get these things called "armor cores" that lock certain pieces of armor to them, so you can't mix and match pieces across cores, and some cores just have NO options. You can no longer choose colors freely, and instead are forced to choose an "armor coating", that has a preset color scheme with different material textures.
The materials are neat but the inability to choose what color or what material for whatever armor piece like previous halo games is a huge step backwards and is super restrictive.

Oh yeah, the armor coatings are also locked to specific armor cores, so you can't mix and match those either.
(2022-12-14: They've begun work on cross-core finally, so far it's only visors, but they've also released some free colors for the other armors that were lacking, so they're getting there.)

I'm not even going to get into the lack of game-modes. They've been adding more over time which is nice but we've still got a long way to go before the game has anything comparable to any of the previous halo games selection of gametypes and playlists. (2022-12-14: Forge has helped with this problem but we're still missing some gametypes.)

There's also not a whole lot of maps, but they've been adding more of those too over time. (2022-12-14: With Forge released, I feel this is much less of an issue)

Overall though it's a slow drip and it's pretty rough. Give the game about a year or so and come back and it will be way better. Or suffer through it like I am. (2022-12-14: It's been about a year and the game is in a much better place.

I love this game, but at the same time I hate the state that it's in.
(2022-12-14: With the winter update and the addition of red-reticle and MnK aim assist, I'm pretty happy about the state of the game. If there was a time to play Infinite, it'd be now.)

This is my first Monster Hunter game and I love it

Imagine if you played Dark Souls, except there was no PVP, and it was all about the bosses. Also there are way more of them.

It's like Chivalry but better.

There's a little something for everyone here, whether you're into hardcore competitive or just wanna mess around and smack people with a lute.

The good: Big open world to battle on, no matchmaking, tons of guns and customization, lots of fun when there are enough people.

The Bad: Low population, implants are Pay to Win

I remember a time when there would be 3 out of 4 continents unlocked at any given time, with a ton of different skirmishes you could choose to drop in on, or if you wanted to be stealthy and capture a base with a small team, while everyone else is off on the frontlines, you could.

Those days are long gone. When I say low population, I mean, out of the 5 continents we have now, only one is unlocked at any given moment. The game is old and most of the playerbase has moved to something else.

An amazing RPG that I've put WAAAAY too many hours into. I own it for the xbox as well as on here. So yeah, it's a lot of fun. :)
