I really tried to enjoy it but, not only it's not for me, but in the final chapter, when you finally do the 13th test against (in my case) Aurelia, not only the fight is a slogfest with a constantly replenishing boss with magic that can put a member on the floor for 10 turns, debuff you while boosting her evasion but, if she runs out of potions and mana, she just won't act at all, soft-locking you from the fight in her turn, forcing a load and retry. not even the blessing of the 12 gods helped enough, I'm dropping the franchise then and there. Not gonna subject myself to a whole second game with this system

Essentially loved it, loved the weird busted builds or techniques you can pull off if you know what you are doing, the hacking is cool af, clearing a hard mission just by writing many lines from extraction makes you feel like a pro. Kinda want to try other character builds right now as I write this review. Pro-tip: If you want to have the best possible shot at clearing your debt, do a fresh run(obviously after learning the girth of this game), unlocking that secret class was hell

The style and lore are very cool indeed, the only problem is the core mechanics, MAN they make this game unenjoyable. It's like it made itself worse just to stand out in this genre.
----- the whole enemy power-up mechanic makes no sense in any scenario, I would understand if it went both ways, I would at least understand. Between upgrades that are like 1% to x thing and weapons that are overall just there, I feel no incentive or interest in said upgrades (having to fill all my slots with the same upgrade for like a 7% bonus to dodge is quite trash. Enemies have the same consumables you can have (another reason I feel the empowering mechanic should go both ways) making some fights go on forever when 3 mooks just pop heal puddles one after the other and my damage doing the same as their healing ticks. Companions dying forever and needing copious healing items to bring back to full hp.
ORGANS GETTING DESTROYED, JUST KILL ME, MAN. Don't destroy my equipment, even if it gives ♥♥♥♥ stats, like everything else, it costs a lot of specific resources to craft these things.
One thing is risk vs. reward, another thing is just being tedious masochistic. You are supposed to be a herald of the end and such and a regular dude with a gun can ruin your day if not into it 100%.
I don't know if I'll finish the game, maybe I will out of spite since I can't ask for a refund now.
THE LORE AND VISUALS ARE GREAT, but someone should´ve held back many design ideas. Sometimes adding a spin to make something different isn't a very good idea, this is one of those times.

finished a run in one sitting, which while being VERY strange for this genre, It's refreshing and just says how engaged I was. The gameplay allows for a lot of different approaches, at the time of review, I was an outcast tech savy saboteur, very busted in the good sense, perhaps I'll try a charmer to win talking or a soldier build to move more freely in the wreck next.
**My only disclaimer is that, even if the ¨fated die¨ system can be discouraging out of the bag (for me, it was frustrating at first), taking into account the length of the game, I can understand it and find it appropiate.
Now, I'll try to get other endings. Unique/10

the core game is solid, the music was so ass I couldn't bear it. The trailer has a good tune, fit for a roguelike run, don't know why the game decided for very bad almost royalty-free music

Game is tight and enjoyable right now, (like a dark mesiah lite but doing it's own thing, which is cool imo) but still needs some time in the oven, the main point would be making the *extensive skilltree* actually extensive, since there are caster types as enemies, an eventual magic unlock after meeting some requirements or checking boxes would be amazing. Leaning a bit hard on fark mesiah, but that's what draws me to this game, aside from being a clear inspiration. hoping to see where this game goes in the future.

Arguably short but fun, worth the price, visually cool. Rani's partner may strike you like a pain in the backside like 90% of the game but she eventually comes around and redeems herself. Had to spoil this one bit because it can cause a LOT of friction. Overall a good, simple game. You see black gunk, you suck it, nature heals stunningly. How fun vacuuming the gunk is already makes it worthwhile!

I know it's RPGMaker and it's a few years old but, HEAR ME OUT!
It has action-rpg mechanics (that start too simple, but once you get your first skill and encounter your first enemies with actual attacks, it goes up from there, not to mention the bosses that make you run to avoid AOEs) in RPGMaker! and it's free to boot! finished it within last night and today, it has 3 endings depending on some stuff at the end and the endings 2 and 3 are a bit of heart-wrenching for the time.
Tried it when I was a teen and skipped, but now with a more hardened taste for indie games, It was like a pending affair and I'm glad I went down that lane.
