Every now and then you come across a piece of media that transcends it's cage. A piece of media that is an experience to consume. 1000xRESIST is one of those. Playing this game is a beautiful experience.
This is a narrative walking sim so i understand that is not for everyone. Although it is fully voiced. It feels low budget at times, but that only adds to its charm.

A beautiful experience i am glad i took part in.

If you found the puzzles in the base game to be to easy, this is what you need. The DLC pushes the mechanics the base game introduced with a wide range of puzzles across three areas.

For a Mod by a small team (5 people in the credits), this is put together extremely well. In my opinion this is almost as good as a Mod gets.

The environment and lighting were put together in a way that leads you to where you need to go, without telling you. I think i was lost on where i had to go only once. The sound design was beautiful and really enhanced the experience. The ambiance and added music changed depending on the environment. Outside was light and airy with sounds of nature. Underground was dark and foreboding. The puzzles were not to difficult but some made you think. I found that i never got stuck for long. At max it took a couple minutes of poking around to find out how to solve any of the puzzles.
Overall i enjoyed the story and really don't have any major complaints. I liked seeing another take on aperture and it was fun to go to more areas. The ending was a bit abrupt, but with how the game takes place between Portal 1 and Portal 2 i think it was fitting.

There were some comments that were critical of the voice acting, but i thought the voice acting was good. It did not hinder my enjoyment of the story. I really want to stress; for a FREE mod, the voice acting could have been SOOOOO much worse.

Overall my playtime was a hair shy of 6 hours, so its enough to fill half a day. If you played Portal 1 or 2 before you should not have any issues completing this mod.

The Pros for Assassins Creed Origins are the world is beautiful. I enjoy history and seeing the time period. Plenty to see and do. If you enjoy ubisoft open world games this does not stray from the formula.

Thats where it ends for me. My main gripe is the gameplay is clunky, and feels unpolished.
Its satisfying to assassinate an enemy, when it lets you.
It is fun to climb and parkour, when it lets you.
The gameplay does not lead to a fun or rewarding experience.

My favorite part of the far cry games were sneaking in and assaulting the compounds. Taking out enemies one by one undetected. It's a shame that Assassins Creed is a worse stealth game than Far Cry. I cant count how many times i've been sitting in bushes scoping out a compound and an enemy has detected me all the way across the compound. Or through a wall. Completely hidden the whole time.
Worse still ill have everyone tagged and i'm watching their patrol for patterns. Again, crouched in bushes hidden. Then out of the blue ill be attacked from behind. Not even someone from the compound, but a random passer by. I've had a passing guard come off the road, climb scaffolding, then see and attack me.

I've walked up from behind to assassinate someone, gotten the prompt, then the prompt disappeared. Prompt reappears and i go to press it and they are alerted to me.
Same with chain attacks. Ill assassinate someone, turn to chain attack. I'll see the prompt, press F and it disappears. Nothing happens. Then suprise! the prompt reappears. I doubt it's a level thing since im vastly over leveled for the area.

Is ESO plus for everyone? No.
Do i think its worth it? Yes.

If you look at it as a monthly subscription of crowns (where you pay $15 a month and get the equivalent in crowns) AND you get added in game benefits on top of that, then yes.

If you just see it for the in game benefits, and ignore the crowns? Then no it may not be worth it for you.

Even If i don't play much in a given month, i still get the crowns.
