This is a 48 minutes playtime review which is crazy that I would post a review with so little knowledge of the game but wow, this is bad on a fundamental aspect. And I don't get why this game gets so many positive reviews.

I'm a Roguelite lover, used to enjoy FPS quite a lot, never really was attracted to RPGs.

My playthrough is summed up to 3 explorations : 2 deaths and 1 succesful exit.

As other people mentioned : The plus side for this game are the graphics that are nice and the gunplay.

But for the bad side, you start off with a non-immersive OST, confusing controls for a FPS (Am I the only one who found that strange that dash is on V and melee on mouse scroll button ? Or is my brain rotten by CoD controls ?), awful minimap (there's a waypoint option if you open up the map that is useful) : It's just a bunch of comas that I didn't know what it represents. idk if they're chests, the different points of the map or the enemies. Was it this hard to take the same logos as in the map screen and scale them down into the mini map ? You end up constantly watching the map to see which objectives you're going towards.

You clear an enemy camp and you get probably the most laughable Roguelite skill strengh progression throughout an exploration run : Your gun sways less, You can strife, your last bullet in the chamber deals more damage, you lose less stamina upon getting hit. You get no dopamine at all and you start to realize where did you spend your 40$ on...

Alright, now let's go into the three runs I've made :

- First exploration : death : I went to the tower entrance and got aggro from 4/5 swordsmen that deals 25% HP upon getting hit. The portal next to it disappeared because I didn't want to go through it. Seemed scary and wanted to explore more first. So I dropped off the mountain and aggro'd more weaker ennemies that I was able to defeat. Because the mini map is terrible, I wasn't aware if I running into a highly dangerous area. I ended up in the other portal and guess who appeared ? The Swordsmen I aggro'd from the top of the moutain that in reality I never lost aggro'd from and got killed. Fantastic first run.

- Second exploration : Extraction : Went towards the other portal I wanted to see what it did, collected my remains cleared some areas and went from the portal and... Exploration successful ! here's your witchfire points you're now able to spend at the hub ! Huh ? I never wanted to end my exploration there. Great ! Atleast now the time has progressed to the sunset and was able to upgrade my main weapon (Played the Butcher) reading the challenges to further upgrade the weapon lead to more confusion and upgrading the character stats brought no dopamine at all especially since hidden workshop skills are learned upon upgrading the character. I upgraded luck which allowed me to learn communication... great ! upgraded Vitality, nothing happened, alright...

- Third exploration : Death. Was clearing the side I didn't went through yet at this point. Wanted to explore some rock cliffs after climbing a tower ruins in hope on uncovering a mystery but nope this was nothing and when I was dropping off, I got stuck. Like litterally. When pausing, the magical button "unstuck" was present and had to resort to that... 40$ spent on that.... Anyways, I come accross the mini-boss after some underwhelming skills learned from clearing camp and I got destroyed... Why on a same island you come accross easy ennemies and then 10ft away you aggro a mini-boss on the 1st Island btw that completely destroys you ?

After that, I was done with the game. Had no fun at all and asked for a refund. Which thankfully I got back. I was excited to play this game and explore a what it seemed like an innovative Shooter RPG that included Roguelite aspects. God I was so wrong. I browsed some reviews that told me that you grind the same islands over and over again and that the ennemies scales up naturally as you become stronger. I dodged a silver bullet right there if I gave this game another try.

To sum up : This game is the combination of the worst parts of a RPG shooter and the worst parts of a Roguelite. Charged 40$ cause all the resources went to the graphical technicality and gunplay design. For a first impression of this game having played 15+ Roguelites that costs 50% to 75% less than this game and having played Borderlands which is one of the goats in RPG Shooters : I wouldn't even buy this game if this cost half its price.

This has become the greatest game to play with friends. Being a massive fan all the way back to MicroMachines V4, I've been waiting for a game that would follow this legacy for a very long time. Obliteracers made a fantastic job being a 16 players complete chaos variant but it lacked track diversity and complexity and was I'd say quite polished. Atleast compared to Make Way

The "unpolishness" of Make Way is what makes this game shine hilariously enough. Taking the Ultimate Chicken Horse concept to I would call the MicroMachines V4 formula is the greatest combination ever. The chaos gamemode is the only game mode we play with two of my friends and every single session is a masterpiece of unexpected events. Not only on how hard we can make a track, by crying of laughter of how someone got destroyed by forgetting an important obstacle. But all of these aspects are nothing to the amount of unreal bugs that creates totally what the frick moment that makes us dying of laughter : A mine + bumper combo that blasts someone to the stratosphere, the wonky physics that makes every bump to other players a total gamble on the outcome, the camera that struggles following the leader and unexpectedly kills a player, a checkpoint skip that makes players launch off the grid while 2 players are dead and the camera is catching up, and ofc my favorite of them all, a sudden death start that the game randomly decides the winner when the race starts. The game has to be left in this state of bugs.

The only wish we could ever ask for is : More track pieces, workshop support and the only bug worth fixing being the looping cut with shortcut disabled where we have to rule ourselves to not abuse it. Absolutely recommanded

It was about time that I revisit my review. Before the major endless mode update, I didn't recommand this game due to multiple points that were later on discussed with the developer. Lackluster items, runs too short, overly punishing, overly random, very little control over the game. All of these lead me to not recommand the game.

Fast forward to the Endless mode update that just by itself totally redefined my look of this game and made me understand some design decisions. The runs are in fact... not too short and is just the correct amount of time (atleast with the current scaling of things) and most of the builds are at their fullest potential on stage 10 before it breaks the game. The stacking of items is very unique and the strongest point of this game. And some items were made more reliable (Parasite my beloved) Some builds barely clutching the final stage will only go for one or two extra stages in endless, but a broken build just goes infinite and my gosh this is fun, relaxing and satisfying putting in 70+ balls in a single shot with 10000+% shot power. I was shortly able to clear difficulty 19-20 and tackle on challenges in difficulty 20 that I've yet to have finished but overall it's been fun.

Later updates introduced new enemies, new challenges, new obstacles and it's been enjoyable to see the games evolves and now I'm having a fun time whenever I boot up the game !

Shoutout to the developer for the passion they bring into the project and this game !

I am revisiting my review for the third time for the second major update. And this time, I will actually recommand it as I played it double the amount of hours in a week than in a month as the applying upgrade infinite loading screen bug is finally fixed and it did not crash since and it's been a real treat !

I've even tried multiplayer for the first time and it's been fun and I've been enjoying it ! So far I have S rating in safety and 4,3k skill so I'm happy so far with it. But there are not a lot of choices of races and I don't know when most of them are updated.

On my previous review, I complained about the AI which is still valid on this patch which will be the quote below. And I will expand on some solutions I've found.

"The AI :
- This is so unbelievably disgusting and needs to be fixed as soon as possible and makes the game little as no fun. I will say at first that compared to GT, FM actually tries to have a competitive AI and adjustable difficulties. Having played from GT3 to GT6 with no such things, in term of race intensity in GT for singleplayer is non-existant and is boring to play after a while. With that out of the way, let's get back to FM AI.

- I will share its strongest point though : On a similar pace and when attempting to make moves, the AI actually leaves you space and fights (not so much) next to you. Sadly a good amount of time, the AI just don't take the space you left for them and just goes offtrack or slows down significantly. And that is pretty much it regarding good aspects of the AI.

- AI and PI points... My god I've never seen something so unrelated and that makes no sense. First of, why are AI cars using custom liveries and has racing kit already installed with modified tire compound on the first race of any cup while you're stuck on a 300 Upgrade points stock car ? You finished two races, you upgrade from 530 PI to 580 PI, you check the drivers list, they upgraded their car too but what ? The cars look the same. Who knows ? Who cares ? This makes upgrading the car so insignificant because of this because even when you upgrade the car, the AI are still the same which has...

- ... The same five cars that started first that get away on the first lap, has their best lap an entire second faster with you with supposedly a slower car (I'm playing on difficulty 6 but I'll be honest, from difficulty 4 to 8, there seem to be little to no difference. You could correct me on this me) and drives PERFECTLY for the entire race. Humans can make mistakes, they don't unless they interact between eachother. The only chance you have is a mix of both you're extremely good at the track and they have poor defined lines on a track. One such track is Lime Rock. And it is not fun at all.

- The AI is super slow when packed up, notably at the start of the race on the first turn, it's pretty much the only chance you have to get first place and try to get a lead and defend against the ridiculous AI.

- And speaking of being slow, you have to brake when they slow down really early or else you'll total your car. But when you brake too early because you misjudge the distance, they do not slow down and rams you off the track. It's so bad. When I tried a new genre of racing simulation games, the same issue happened and made me Alt+F4 and got the game refunded."

First thing is I was a little wrong about difficulty 4 to 8 being the same. It's more like 6 to 8 but I have yet to experiment with difficulty 7 and 8 because of the following point that is ridiculous : When you go from difficulty 4 to 5 you go to +32% to +41% credits rewards and from 6 to 8 it's +44%, +47%, +50%. The gap in difficulty from 5 to 6 (a whole 2 seconds off AI Laps) and gaining 3% more credits is ridiculous. And even worse than that, you will actually earn more credits finishing first in difficulty 4 starting from 24th place than finishing first in difficulty 6 starting in 10th place. This should not be a thing at all and rewards should be pushed way up from difficulty 6 to 8. It's just there to make your solo experience miserable for nothing. I usually stay with 5 and start from last. That almost makes it as a generic GT race but I balance difficulty to make reaching first place actually a challenge and not a snooze fest.

Also, I've been realizing that the upgrade system starts to be an issue. They wanted to promote the fact of upgrading your car in between solo cups but you unlock the exact same upgrades in the exact same order and that makes it soo boring. Having to struggle with some boats having to grind to level 15 to unlock weight reduction should not be a thing and I'm really starting to dislike this aspect.

But yeah overall, I'm satisfied playing this game and glad to not see the hours passing by while playing it ! Can't wait for Nordschleife !

NOTE : Below this is my original "thumbs down" review :

"This was so awaited yet these aren't even what we call "Game designers"

Imagine you are playing an Esport Game where balancing matters. If a single character has the potential with some components (let's say items) to win you the game, they will nerf the character, the item and buff the environnement making the character and it's core items completely unplayable.

This is Repentane in a nutshell where devs can't even test and compare these changes to any Esport game. Some new items are very cool but we simply can't have fun in this game. I've spent my last two days screaming at my computer because of all the bs there is to this DLC.

Just don't buy and wait for patch notes. I'll just stop playing this crap from now

EDIT Patch V.4.0.1 : The first patch came out, I played it more, it's a step in the right direction. I'm liking what's beyond the gameplay aspect. I'll wait until I unlock more items and see if it deserves a thumbs up on my part"

NEW REVIEW BELOW :

Obiviously, I didn't stop playing and turns out, I am not perfect at all, but the first set of buffs is enough and the game with all its depths is just so enjoyable.

The thing I didn't want from this whole extension is to just reroll every single run in hope to get a Tech X or Death Touch start. And as time goes on and I finally learned the new timings on the increased hostile projectiles speed on hard mode, the game is very enjoyable and I'm having a ton of fun unlocking all achivements ! (Thank godness they fixed the Keeper)

Jacob & Esau was unplayable for me at the start and I would never thought I would just be able to lay back, think about it and find out a crucial gameplay element that makes this duo good characters and I'm almost done with them

Overall, a fantastic expansion but be warned, it takes a lot of time and patience to be able to unlock everything. The rewards are worth it !

This is a game I used to rate a thumbs up. But ever since Arena got into public beta and the Summer Pass. I've decided to come back to DemonCrawl as I loved this game so much.

What a sadness this game has become. Devs are so obsessed with adding new mechanics they make the game totally broken and unplayable. I've never had my game crash so much in like 10 hours of playing it recently than the other 180 hours in quest mode. It is so unbelieveably stupid and unbeareable.

I will go a little bit into arena. It was in closed beta for Patreons only and it stayed in this state for 3 months where I saw a bit of gameplay and already saw some huge flaws. 3 Months later, it became in a public beta state and I feel like nothing has changed ever since the closed beta other than the Manual Division which is infinitely better than the automatic.
- Too little amount of time per stage/No progression of time limit over the rounds.
- This implies no adaptation to certain mods we can get as soon as a tier 1 homeland that totally make your board unplayable (Double/Tunnel)
- 15 seconds queue time max or otherwise the lobby is filled with bots.
- Speaking of, the bots are most of the time unaffected by your homeland and impossible to defeat.
- Arena Plus is a pay 2 win for your choice of mastery (4 choices instead of 2) and homeland (3 choices instead of 2). Why even make your gamemode worse than it already is seriously ?

Updates were fast the first week to hotfix some drastic crashes and bugs but it's been 3 weeks now and it almsot feels like they gave up fixing Arena and there are no updates at all and all these points are still present. This is a perfect example how not to create a brand new gamemode that works totally different from your main gamemode but you just dump all your database into this new gamemode and don't touch pretty much anything. It's much better to even start from scratch like get rid of 75% of all the items and make them unique, useful, adapted to the arena game mode and then add all the other elements as time goes on. I was so excited to play Arena. I played 10 games before stopping.

This game is a classic.

L4D2 is a cooperative zombie survival campaign where you are 4 survivors running into few chapters in order to escape the place you're trapped in. Zombies comes and rushes you like crazy and you'll need to get them out of your way to continue. Sadly, there are special infected spawning randomly and have unique attacks. Some blinds you, some deals huge damage in AOE, some beats down a survivor, some kills all survivors, some BODY ONCE TOLD ME.

Humph, humph... I guess that's enough to tell you why this game is awesome. Oh I forgot that a little bit of communication is required. It can be useful.

And still yet playerbase is still there and it is not dead at all

I mean, whoever thought this was a good idea needs an award. Plus it has been executed perfectly.

I don't think I'll say something about this game. Lots of people said what I want to say so.

Get it and see if you become addicted. It is a great game anyways

I am kinda meh. It might become a not recommended for me depending of if the things I'll say are gonna be fixed.

Deceit, developped by Automaton is a quite small company of around 20 people, is a cooperative game where you are 6 and are either an innocent or an infected. 4 are innocents, 2 are infected. As innoncents, you need to collect items to protect you against infected and you have to escape the place by going through 3 different zones. As Infected, you need to drink blood, prevent innocents of taking items and kill them.

A lot of communication is required and being the smartest and being able to lie without being detected will wins you games. It is a blast playing with friends and every item is very well thought and are crucial into the game.

The problem is, bugs ruins it. A lot of English people are mad about having Thai people invading English servers and ruining games. On my country, there isn't any problem at all.

Anyways, between friendlist absolutly buggy, tokens and points not being updated once used (even though it looks like it had been fixed for tokens), Notifications constantly coming back after deleting them. And servers are being reset sevral times a week.

I will talk about the worst part that I lost an item when I logged in. And about a friend that installed the game but has no ID or whatsoever and cannot play the game. He and some other friends have been asking to developpers to fix it but they don't give a ♥♥♥♥ at all.

If I am not satisfied with future updates, I will thumbs down this game. You have my warning. Hopefully, in game bugs are little so you and I will enjoy the gameplay.
