An awesome game, a gritty in the dirt shooter with tons of replayability and an addictive combat system.

The voice acting is horrible, the sounds are recycled from previous Tom Calancy games and the overall graphics haven't aged well with the game but the gameplay and levels are still so wonderfully fun. The AI is brutal and efficient, gunplay is not only fun but tactical and even engaging. Take a shot and you go down, the same applies to your enemies but in the midst of an intense battle you may feel overwhelmed and powerless. It may lack a lot of quality in certain areas, but where it counts the game is an awesome tactical shooter with tons to do and shoot.

An extremely well made concept game. Gripping and tense at times it often makes you question whether you obey the authoritarian standards of your job, or help the oppresed people of the various countries by granting them entry to the great Arstotzkan country. But becareful, your mistakes linger in this game.

Despite a lack of polish and a lot of other things, Takedown has a wonderful foundation for that old Rainbow Six styled gameplay. It's a lot of fun with friends, but the issues begin to pile up once you look deeper into the games mechanics. The AI in this game although tough, is not personable. None of them act as if they're human, instead they remind me of Skynet AI terminators roaming the landscape of the maps hunting down players. The level design although incredibly beautiful, is boring and repetative. Not to mention several doors have been blocked off for odd reasons (Possibly not completed designs?). And ontop of all that, there's no Development Kit or anyway to setup private games with friends. The server options are lacking and interpolation for players is very stuttery, it's a whole mess of problems but if you can sift through it you may find yourself enjoying the gameplay.

Guns work well and are effective, the bullet penetration system is a nice touch but I've seen plenty of instances of the AI not using it or completly failing to penetrate simple surfaces like glass and thin plaster. They offer you some rudimentary customization on your weapons, between ammo types and supressors and even grenades you can roll in with. But that's where it ends, yes you can choose body armor types but nothing meaningful in terms of customization.

So in total is the game awful? No, it's not awful. It's just severly lacking in a lot of polish and features, a ton more customization options, a level editor and some more randomized map area's would really bring this game into triple A standards. But it's just not there yet, but who knows games today tend to have very long and healthy patch cycles. So fingers crossed right?

Having followed the development of this mod for about 3 years now, I can say that the product they've released as it stands is absolutely fantastic. There are very few zombie games I can play in such durations of time, this being one of the very few of them. It truely captures the fear of being surrounded by hordes of Romero styled zombies, more so than a lot of Triple A game's offer. Not to mention they've modeled weapons exactly how they should behave in a tense, urban zombie scenario. I see a lot of wonderful things in the future for the developers, I cannot recommend trying this mod out if your a fan of the zombie enigma.
