Great fun.

Great concept, lots of playtime stemming from user created levels and a random level generator.

Apart from suffering from bugs and crashes, this game is simply not fun if you don't have friends to play it with. The way the online matchmaking is set up (the run-based system), you will have a hard time getting people to join your lobby. While you won't have a problem getting people into your run when first starting it, you will run into problems if you wish to pause it at some point. If you continue your run after taking a break, you will most likely play with bots for the rest of the run - which will also often be the major portion of it. The matchmaking seems to be set up in a way that keeps most players from joining in-progress runs, leaving you to play those with bots.

And those bots are horrible. They will not help with mission objectives (apart from shooting zombies), so if you end up alone in your lobby, you will often end up juggling quest objects through the map. (This issue is only alleviated by the often laughably short levels.) The bots will also end up doing stupid things, ending in them getting downed. Sometimes they simply get stuck in the scenery as well. Because of these issues, I can neither recommend playing with bots nor with randoms (as even pugs will end up being bot runs at some point).

If you do have friends to play this game with, it can be fun. The sound design and gunplay are excellent (music could've used a bit more oomph) and the mission objectives are varied enough to keep things interesting for a while. It looks like it's a pretty short game, but replaying the campaign is part of the deal with a game like this. All in all, I don't see why you wouldn't just play L4D2, though, since that game offers everything B4B has, but way more of it. The only thing L4D2 lacks is B4B's card system and the weapon mods, which, while interesting, aren't reason enough to switch over to this game. Especially not at full price.

Arguably the best-developed of the three. While it does not have DS1's interconnectedness of the world, it feels like FromSoftware perfecting DS1's formula in every other way.

Starting with DS3 is a fine choice as well. It's what I did and I didn't feel like I was missing something. It also didn't spoil my later experience of DS1. Definite recommend in any case.

Alongside its sequel, Call of Pripyat, it's still one of the best RPGs to this day.

Good simple fun, very RNG based, but the game itself and its players don't take it too seriously, which makes it a great time. The different characters and cards make for interesting combos and play styles, so you do have agency as well.

Excellent writing, one of the best RPGs out there.
