I am not going to lie this game is kinda barebones. Although it has some gameplay mechanics that are fun to me for, some reason. It is very hard to get used to but once you do it really is fun and addicting. The campaign is a hard and time consuming one if you are new. If you are indeed new once you start send what troops you have out to give yourself some expansion room. Bring Troops back to camp preferably your rangers ( They move the fastest) if any zombies get near one of your buildings. After that just expand in one direction and keep your beginner units close to defend them.

Once expanded close it off with a nice wall with Unit Towers behind it. Now in between those first steps of a match make sure you continue getting your population up and get some sawmills. Put houses in the safest place that you think zombies wont reach them. Use your units who are chasing to find some stone and iron and you have your Barracks. Train units, set them in towers or to chase and win. Rinse and repeat people its as easy as that.

I love every Total War game but with that said there business practice is that such as Activison. I have been playing Total War since Medieval 2 and I have played most games since then. The problem I find is that there is little to no content with each Total War game when released. They repackage a good portion of what should be in the base game as DLC when really it shouldn't have been. Now they already announced that the next Total War game will come out next year and will be centered around Ancient Greece and the war with Troy, hence the name Troy: Total War. However they had major success with the Warhammer Total Wars and I feel if they worked on another fantasy Total War maybe they could work on a Lord Of The Rings Total War. The likelihood of that actually happening is slim to non because of obvious reasons (Not wanting to buy the rights to make it). I truly enjoyed Warhammer and it continues to be one of my favorite Total War games. I wasn't real big into the lore of Warhammer but there game introduced me to it and it is vast. Just think what they could do if they game out with a LOTR TW it would be without a doubt a smashing success. Yes learning history is cool but a game series like Total War need to throw a curve ball every now and then to keep the series fresh. Hopefully they read the reviews and read this. If you are do it make another Fantasy series. The last mod that we had for LOTR was in Medieval 2 so please spend the money and you will get more back, people will start to respect you again. Please
