Unironically, this is the best platformer I have ever played. I think it better than Celeste. Tight controls with snappy movement, a killer combination of my personal favorite 3D platformer mechanics, as well as an amazing atmosphere and heavenly OST.

I've heard some folks complain the gravity is too high, however I think that the weightiness of this game is a big part of its appeal. It requires you to think, and have to plan accordingly around how fast you fall. I think my one gripe with the game is that there's no way to know where you have left to look for items. If they implemented that, along with maybe a map that could fill out as you discovered things? Peak (I mean it's already my favorite game I've ever played but).

In Stars And Time came to me at what I would call... The Right Point in my life. Even if that's recent.

I've always been a timeloop fan, just in my nature I suppose, and this game provides one that not only I can relate to, but one that is masterfully constructed, on top of wonderful characters, beautiful sprites and artwork, and (at times) a banger score.

I'm still processing what all it means to me but, I can say for certain that it's going to mean a lot. Thanks for the experience.

EDIT: Check Below Line for Release Review

I know that to most people, Early Acces/Open Beta is scary and would mean low polish. This is not the case with WB's Multiversus. The gameplay itself is incredibly smooth and polished and feels much more akin to something like Rivals of Aether than another platform fighter by another major broadcasting company that shall go unnamed.

Overall, the only thing that feels unpolished at all right now is how difficult it is to fight vs an AI in any meaningful way without Wifi, but maybe this will change as time goes on. It's definitely worth it for a free to play game though. Also yes, despite marketing, you can in fact fight in 1v1's. Go ham.

-----------------------------

Dude this game is kind of weird rn. I still like it a lot, but good lord there's somehow more jank than the original beta. First game to ever go into Open GAMMA. I'm gonna keep playing, but it 100% needs some changes.

Absolutely one of the best smash inspired games I have ever played and probably will ever play. First and foremost unlike others that attempt the smash bros format, all of its original characters are extremely memorable and likable by design alone, let alone their place in the story. The guest characters are fantastic as well (For Shovelry!), but what really shines is the passion that went into making this game. Everything is lovingly crafted and is a game built for casual AND competitive. Fantastic game.
