In a lot of ways its a very dissapointing sequel.
Although the story, characters and music is much worse than the original game, what really gets me is the lack of enemy variation, and a better postgame gameplay wise.
But, the gameplay is what pulls it trough yet again.
The world is a lot bigger and more fun to explore, and the combat is still as amazing and is the main driving force that keeps you playing.
I really hope it gets DLC on par or even better than dark arisen. If we get harder and more monsters, and an area that makes them more accessible, that would fix most of my issues.

This is a no brainer for fans of the original Dragons Dogma, but for the rest of the people, wait for a sale or (hopefully) dlc bundle in the future.
