Amazing 3D exploration platformer game. The movement options you unlock make exploring very addicting.
The lack of map was adressed, but it would have been nice if I could see if I'm missing something.
Biggest downside of the game is the length, its too short, once you beat it, you wish you could play around more with the movement options.

I'm hoping for a bigger sequel with the same style of movement options

A great improvement to the original. The combat is a lot better, You have more and better options, and the movement system also got improved, making exploring more fun.
Just like the first game, this game is also one of the most beautiful 2D games I have ever played.

I do wish the world was even bigger, and if you wanna get all upgrades, you need to grind a lot of Spirit lights.

A pretty fun Monster battle/collecting game.
Has a pretty simplistic turn based combat system that works to draw beginners to the charm of the Monster Hunter series.
There is a pretty addictive gameplay loop of getting to new areas, collecting a few new monsters, and carrying on.
Glad to see a definitive version of the first one with all the japanese updates.
Would recommend if you are into monster collecting games.
Also would recommend this over the second one, as it has a better story and more charm.

This quickly turned into one of my favorite ''souls-like'' games, maybe even my favorite.

I'll start with the worst things, the characters and story. The story isn't meant to be taken seriously so thats not really an issue, but the main character is kinda annoying, and the rest of the cast isn't much better. Don't expect much in this department.

The presentation of the rest of the game is sublime though. It has some great looking areas, both in style and theme, Music is great, even the menu style looks great.

Combat is very fun, and the gimmick where your shell is your shield is unique and great, and gets expanded upon the more you level up as well. One of the better expansions is that you can stick a shield to your main weapon, that changes its move set from sword to hammer, and changes the speed and power depending on the shell.

Most of the major boss fights are very well done, and are a lot of fun to learn, some even more so than in the later souls games/Elden Ring.
However, some of the techniques you can use can literally break the game. I had to stop using the octopus powerup otherwise I would have just blazed trough it.

although I wouldn't call the game short, I wish there was more of it, maybe some extra modes. I don't wish for DLC often, but I wouldn't say no to more content.
Big recommendation!

I'm a bit thorn. Its a decently fun exploration/platformer game, with amazing atmosphere and presentation, and some good puzzles, but way too short for the price they are asking for.
You might argue the game is ''longer'' but most end game puzzles are very obnoxious and just made for the developer himself. they are not fun to solve and 90% of the players will just look up the answer.

But worse of them all, one part of the map cannot be filled unless you cheat or glitch your way in there.
For that reason alone I cannot recommend this game.

(only 19 hours, but I beat the game on PS4 already)

Despite the game seeping with problems a lot of open worlds games have trouble with, what makes this game stand out above the rest is the gameplay. The combat is very fun and only gets better and more varied the more you unlock and challenges rise.
The presentation and atmosphere are also top notch. A must play if you are a fan of the old japan samurai era. I didn't expect to get invested in the characters or story of the game but I was pleasantly surprised, and some of the more emotional moments hit hard.

I brushed the multiplayer which was added in later on the PS5 off as a side mode, and technically it still is, but Its actually surprisingly fun, and focuses more on the core combat of the game. definitely a fine addition to an already good game.

Lastly, the PC port is done pretty well(in my experience)
No Glitches or crashes so far, and with added options that make the game way better (FOV slider in particular. I can never go back to the PS4/5 version)

Very recommended, one of the better open world games.

A fantastic expansion added on a fantastic game.

Everything added in Iceborne fixed most of my flaws in world
-a bigger, better and more varied Monster Roster
-a much, MUCH better hub in Seliana, with a gathering hub I actually wanna be in.
-a great new endgame in the Guidling Lands, which is probably the best endgame in the series.

Most weapons got new moves added to the moveset as well, pretty much improving on all of them.
Not only that, but the DLC it got later down the line is all fantastic too, with Fatalis being one of the best and hardest fights in the series.

Its not all perfect though. The clutch claw was a fun idea, but could have been implemented way better. They gave monsters too much health because of tenderising, and you basically want every part you hit to be tenderised.
However, I beat the story my first way trough without ever using the claw, so I wouldn't call it mandatory.

Another problem I have is the balancing around the dlc. The later monsters added in dlc pretty much force you to at least invest a little bit in what the meta skills in the game are and make sets with those, because these monsters have DPS/element checks, or just one shot you if you don't have health boost. And after beating Fatalis and making his set, you basically never have to make another set anymore after, its that much better than the rest of the armour sets.
Older MH games didn't have this this problem(or at least, not this big) and I wish I could see more armour variations.

1500+ hours and still playing. A must if you are a fan of the series, or if you already own world. Don't get world without this.
Worth even full price, but its on sale often.

I wish I could be more positive about the game, as there aren't a lot of Berserk games, and there probably won't be much more, but this just isn't a good game, especially not for that hefty price tag.

I'm already not a big Musou fan as it is, but out of the ones I have played, this has to be the most barebones one.
The story mode goes all the way from the beginning to the boat arc, which is much farther than I expected, which makes it especially odd that there are only 8 playable characters in the game, with one of the slots being used by a minor character, to make things even worse. Story presentation is fine, with the golden age arc having movie scenes, and the other arcs having 3D rendered cutscenes which are hit or miss, but the story doesn't cover everything, from some minor details, to a whole arc being skipped.

Like most Musou games, there is a lot of repetition in the gameplay, but especially here. the over usage of maps especially here was noticeable, and the story forces you to use Guts 90% of the time. It makes sense story wise, but it hurts a game with an already repetitive nature as this even more.
On a positive note, there is the Eclipse mode, which is by far the best thing in this game. Here you fight floors and floors of enemies with different quests and objectives, and feels pretty seamless. You will have to beat the lenghty story mode to get the most out of this, but its worth it.

Its not all good though, the last few floors are annoyingly hard, and I haven't played a Musou game where the difficulty is satisfying and done right. Its mostly damage sponges which hit you for half your HP.

Honestly, the game isn't even worth half the full price they are asking for it, wait for a sale if you must buy it, and not above 20 bucks.
If you really want to play a berserk game, the PS2 game is the beter game.
Or just settle for Dark Souls.

This is a physics based platformer where you use the environment to launch yourself to gain new heights.
I didn't expect to get hooked into the game, but the movement felt so good that I couldn't stop playing until I beat it.

Some later levels can get kinda frustrating to finish, and some end game jumps the game want you to make feel like they only work half of the time, but those faults can be forgiven thanks to the overall high quality of the rest of the content.

While the gameplay is very addictive, the overall presentation is where the game shines. There is little focus on the story, which is short and silly, (good for a platformer) the music is great for every level, and each level has an unique theme with a lot of gameplay variation.

High recommendation, worth the full price.

Some people are a fan of the faster combat. I am not.
It worked a lot better in bloodborne with the revised combat system, and was perfected in Sekiro.
Dark souls 3(and Elden Ring) feel like a regression, where dodge rol spam and reflexion gets rewarded instead of positioning and reading the boss.

Still a lot better than 2 and maybe worth a playtrough in a sale, but personally I'll stick to 1 and demons souls.
