Might have been the guy I saw at a grocery store this one time who was insisting upon buying individual particles of an apple based on having somehow worked out, in his lunacy of course, that each particle would have an average value of some... really not sensible figure. This being the case because he was a dollar shy of being able to buy the entire apple.
Wouldn't take no for an answer.
