Resident Evil 2 is by far and large my favorite Resident Evil game and my favorite horror game. This remake is absolutely divine in terms of gameplay, presentation, sound and most importantly; horror. This game is the natural progression of what you can do with a remake of a beloved game. The gameplay is top notch and you truly feel like a survivor trying to escape this police station with nothing but what you can scavenge along the way. All the enemies are bullet sponges which is actually excellent design as it makes you question if you should pump a few bullets in them or be more passive and try to maneuver your way past them. The atmosphere of this game is absolutely dreadful and I love it. As you try to navigate this puzzle of a police station you are constantly in a state of panic as you don't know who or what lurks behind every corner whether it be a horde of zombies or the much deadlier Lickers and Mr. X. Resident Evil 2 is a masterpiece of a game and it's something anyone that is a fan of survival horror should check out.
