If you are a scuba diver, play this game.
If you are a bartender, play this game.
If you are a gamer, play this game.

It's a zen episodic game which won't appeal to everyone...

...but if you're all 3 of the things mentioned above you just might cry

There are no objectives. There is no rat race (duck race?) No grind, no skill, no puzzle, no death. There are only ducks.

A nice/meh game. In general if you want to be immersed in a beautiful world with plenty sidequesting and big monsters to beat up, this is a great choice for that. I really did enjoy playing it. The different terrains you can travel to keep the scenery and monsters changing up, and there is a general plot to follow.

However...

Even though I have a decent amount of hours put in I never actually finished the game. I got bored. With the sidequesting available the main quest line got easy, the moves, attacks, and gear all became a bit samey, and in general I realized that while I enjoyed the game in a general sense I was just doing the same thing over and over again. It's a little different in dungeon crawlers, because that's what you expect. But even the bosses got a little lame....idk, overall a nice game. Just wish it kept things fresh throughout.

The only video game I've ever cried in. It's not much for gameplay, mostly just solving minor puzzles and finding items hidden throughout the levels, but that's not the point. The music is a heartache, the story is life. Just play it.

This game seems to be one part survival and one part collector's mania with a subtle undertone of terror. You can't always see what's out there in the deep blue, especially when the lights go out. Will you die? Likely. But I keep coming back because I love the environment the game has to offer. Only a couple minor bugs so far, but hey, it's early access still. Plenty to do and lots of places to explore.

Post Early Access Update: The early access bugged out enough to leave me stranded in the deep, but this current run through is top notch. Loving the little additions they've made to make this a game with a definitive ending but with enough playability and exploration available to make this a game you can still come back to.

Takes a while to get through, and it is indeed "fractally padded", but I still enjoyed myself. Movement and feel are much better than the first one, but you're still a badass as Death.
