I played it for half an hour and there was so much crap on screen I could barely control my character until some red guy instant killed me.

For fans of the twin-stick shooter genre but are low on time. It hits the fine line between casual and hardcore but could run out interest quicker for anyone not interested in chasing higher difficulties. If you like a challenge chasing Darkness 15 is fun (Tip: once unlocked for one character you have it open for all characters), but if not you may get a little less gametime by comparison.

Positives
Arcade Gameplay - Invokes the "just one more run" mentality that allows for experimentation due to RNG.
Varied Playstyle - The differences in character / gun / build lends to wide variety.
a e t h e t i c s - The BW+Red color scheme sets this aprt. If only Virtuaboy had met this balance.

Negatives
Lost Currency - Once you buy every rune the amount of money you makes becomes pointless.
Unbalanced Builds - Some build times pale in comparison to others. Magic Spears and Soul Hearts trivializes the game. With enough lightning spam you could step away from the screen.
Unclear Challenges - It's hard to tell if you will get a big run achievement like pacifist, no-hit, or only using your special. In run you hope you didn't make a mistake but sometimes at the end of 20 you came up dry. Wish it communicated that easier.

A love letter to Card RPGs (Pokemon TCG, Magi Nation, etc.). Worth every second you give it.

This is the third time that I've bought this game, pretty consistently just a blast. Even without multiplayer just doing the garden/graveyard ops is just fun. Imps > All.

A GATCHA game to the extreme that can be fun if you take the time to learn the system. Don't obsess over Supreme or Ultimate jobs and have fun your way.

Echo is bae.

A solid entry and more "modern" feeling addition to the MTG digital universe. It has very clearly turned towards current gaming trends , which is to say towards pure multiplayer. Normal magic is multiplayer only, so I always enjoyed some of the single player stuff that was in the original DotPW. Stll worth it though!

Though i played it more on Xbox - this is one of my all time favorite shooters. It's up there with the original Unreal Tournament. Chaos Mode alone is worth the price of admission.
