it's fast and smooth and is oozing with personality (and cheese)

Incredible soundtrack, incredible visuals, an enormous amount of accessibility and difficulty options, all while being very simply yet very tricky and addicting to master.
Also it's free. I guess it's technically a demo for a game still being worked on, but this could honestly be a small game in itself.
It's great, if you find rhythm games even remotely appealing, you should try it (and maybe even if you don't, because all the accessibility options might change your mind !!)

cool fighting game with cool art and animation

It was really fun and cute! Especially the part where Sonic died.

Short answer: if you liked Monster Prom, you'll like this.

Long answer: writing is just as good as before, if not better, which is the main point to this sort of game. It definitely has longer dialogue exchanges on average, allowing for more involved scenarios. I have definitely noticed that the art is both higher quality and there's just more of it (seem to be a lot of side characters).

My only real complaint is that at the start, you answer a question that gives you initial affection with one of the romance options. That's fine, but it seems like it railroads you a lot into that option, seemingly no matter how hard you try for someone else. Could've just been bad luck from the one game I played, but it was the situation for both of us playing. I suppose that works out well if you want to see more of a specific character and know what to pick for the starting choice, but for playing the game casually/wanting variety and options over the course of the game, it was a little annoying.

That said though, it is still a fun and funny game, especially to play with friends. Also, the ending sequence kicks ass.

A little janky, but meaningful and charming is the simplest way to describe this game.

The slow movement/animations of the main character make gameplay feel a bit awkward and/or unnecessarily tedious at times, but the puzzles are generally pretty intuitive. That said, this game is positive and memorable in much more important ways. The puzzles are generally intuitive, the unlockables come at a pretty consistent and satisfying rate, portraying the story in charming, easy to consume chunks.

More than anything, this is a game about destroying yourself, over and over again, realizing that's the only way to move forward, as long as there's some part of you left to recover from.

One last thing that's a pretty considerable spoiler, but it's something I went in knowing that didn't really lessen the experience, and in fact was the reason I was interested in the game to begin with (and is likely the reason most who would truly enjoy the game would be interested): this game is primarily about a transgender's story.

Please make sure to drink your dirt soda in safety so the crocodile does not murder you and spill 2,000 soda on to the floor. It's bad for the environment.
