Thanks to Subnautica, I am almost cured of my fear for underwater levels acquired from old classics like Sonic, Donkey Kong, and Mario Bros. Good story-driven survival builder. Less shoot and kill and more survival. Great water dynamics.

Icarus is a great survival game overall. As all things do, it has its own quirks. The movement feels "off" and I can't even describe it. It's a little awkward in the long run but not game breaking. I really wish there was more "interactive life" to the creatures. Wolves hunting deer and rabbits. Bears eating wolves. The list goes on but the life currently is ignorant to the life around it. It is a bit annoying considering this has been a pain point for several players since EA release, and still nothing has been done about it. The game really tries to push prospectors around the map but, too often it's in a very tedious and unfun way.

Luckily, there has been some great changes over the past couple years. A lot of it was driven by demand from players. Especially the big change from real-time missions to game-time. And doubly so for the persistent open-world. The building system is pretty smooth and has had plenty of additions to make the game much more interesting, especially in the persistent open-world mode.

If you're a hardcore fan of RPG survival builders, I'd say it's definitely worth the price.

Worth the few bucks for a change of pace; something different. Some anomalies are obvious, several you have to keep an eye out for.

Fairly detailed factory/warehouse sim mechanics wrapped in a cutesy art style. At times it was a little too tedious for my personal taste in gaming but a lot of factory sim players will enjoy it

No storyline or quests. Just explore, gather, craft, fight, upgrade, and keep going further to find more in a procedurally generated world. Simple fun. I can only recommend this game to those of us gamers who don't need an external push in a specific direction to play as not much direction is given.

Cool concept with a nostalgic hat-tip to the classic "Uplink" but seems half-arsed

I like Raft's gameplay loop. It's a great sandbox survival with its own unique elements that kept it interesting, especially in comparison to most survival builders.

My only complaint are the dumb af achievements that are essentially just "drool on your keyboard for 20h" as if it requires uptime like a mobile MMO

I can't wait for more updates and the next stage(s) of terraforming!
