Bioshock 2 improves on several things from the first game and adds several new features. The hacking minigame is much faster and better than the pipe one from the first game. There are a variety of new weapons available and redesigns of several weapons from the first game giving them a much better look and feel. The story is also dramatically different because you play as a prototype big daddy and there are several characters for you to interact with and talk to throughout the game. They even introduce a new enemy called The Big Sister who unlike her Big Daddy counterpart is much faster, nimble and uses a variety of plasmids against you.

One thing I did not like was the main antagonist. Her motives seemed a bit flimsy and she did not have nearly as much personality as Andrew Ryan from the first game. Also, I found it weird that the big sisters showed up even if you saved all the little sisters and didn’t harvest them. They also introduce a mechanic where you carry a little sister around and have her harvest Adam while you defend her, and it became very tedious very quickly and forced me to burn through resources very quickly, so I found myself constantly scavenging for equipment. They even introduced an entire DLC pack called the Protection Trials which is just more protecting the little sister but with even less resources.

If you are a diehard Bioshock fan than you’ll like this game but in feel like it is the weakest of the three Bioshock games because while it does improve on several problems from the first one it also adds several new problems and feels like it has several moments, and mechanics designed to waste time so the game feels longer than it really is.

Emily is Away Too improves on several aspects of the first game. For starters you talk to a second person named Evelyn along with Emily. Both girls have very different personalities and allow players to pick who they wish to become closer with. The story is much deeper and more involved than the one in the first game and offers several ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ endings. There are also several more secret buddy icons that unlock funny dialog options. This game is a good sequel that adds several new features and is very fun to play. If you liked the first one then you’ll more than likely like the sequel.

Where to begin with the infamous Duke Nukem Forever? Well in this review I will not be talking about the history of the games development or all the controversies, just the game itself. You play as Duke Nukem set years after the events of the last game, where Duke has been partying in Las Vegas. The Aliens that Duke defeated years ago have come back to Earth again and it’s up to Duke to stop them again. There are several weapons that are fun and satisfying to use like the Ripper machine gun or the Railgun sniper. Your health is your ‘Ego’ meter and you increase it by interacting with different items in the world like doing a dumbbell curl or by playing air hockey which is a fun mechanic and I enjoyed looking for all of the ego boosts. This game is full of different Easter Eggs and references and some are pretty funny and others feel tiresome. My biggest problem with the game is the section where you go to the Alien Hive. It is a weirdly dark section based off the Aliens series and features lots of dark humor which is completely different from the light and fun humor.
I do not believe that this is the worst game or even a bad game. I believe that it has some funny moments and that it is worth looking into if you would like to see what it has to offer. It has several unique mechanics and is quite charming at times.

Oddworld Stranger’s Wrath is the fourth game on the Oddworld series. You play a character known only as “The Stranger” and you are a bounty hunter tasked with bagging outlaws so you can raise money for a surgery that you need. In the game you mainly use a crossbow that allows you to fire a variety of creatures at your enemies that can do a variety of effects like damaging or distracting them. The first half of this game is very fun when you are moving town to town hunting bandits. However in the second half of the game it takes a dramatic shift change and you are fighting enemies like in any other shooter. The game falls apart in this section because several of your weapons are used to capture enemies alive for a bigger reward, but whether they are alive or dead doesn’t matter as much in the second half since your only goal is to get to the end of the map. This game is a mixed bag for me because the first half is really fun but the second half felt pretty boring since most of the challenge is taken out and replaced with mindless shooting.

Oddworld Munch’s Oddysee is the third game in the Oddworld series and the first one in the series that I’ve ever played. I played it back in 2003 on the original Xbox and wanted to give the remastered version a try. In the game you get your choice of two characters Abe from the first two games and Munch who is a new addition to the series. Abe has the ability to jump, command other Mudokons like him and use Possession on different enemies. Munch can swim and has the ability to zap enemies. You must use both characters to work together and solve a variety of puzzles in order to complete the levels.

Now while the game is called Munch’s Oddysee I ended up playing and using Abe a lot more than I do Munch. Munch is only really used in a handful of levels and it’s mostly just because swimming is needed to solve the puzzle. I ended up solving the level with Abe and leaving Munch at the beginning until the level was done, then I’d switch to Munch and walk him to the exit. Munch is really only vital at the very beginning and then the very end of the game, most of the middle arts feel like the game throwing him a bone so he can be involved. While the game was fun to play as Abe it just felt strange that the game makes a big deal about him, only to have him take a backseat for most of the game.

My biggest complaint with the game is the camera. It never wants to look where I tell it too and often snaps in weird angles making the platforming difficult. There were also sections where the jumps you make are just barely possible. But these were only a few minor annoyances, the game offers a quick save/quick load feature which really helped out when I’d make a mistake especially because there is no load time when you quick load you’re put right where you were.

The game is fun overall, the puzzles were fun to solve and it was very enjoyable to slowly take out the enemies in a well-guarded stronghold and then stroll through after all the guards were defeated. Aside from weird camera issues it’s a fun game to play and I really enjoyed it.

Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria Simulator is the 6th game in the Fight Nights at Freddy’s series and the first game in the series I actually played. Now I’m usually not one for jump scares so I’ve stayed away from the series because that’s 90% of the games, but there’s something about the lore and the story that pulled me into it. Hearing all these crazy ways that people were finding secrets sounded fun and like something I would want to try. And you know what I was having fun, until it can time to survive the animatronics. Every time I’d so much as hear a noise I’d be checking the vents and dying to that half dead robot bear became very frustrating. I was able to survive the first night with a real animatronic, but when I heard there were more of them to come I gave up. Maybe one day I’ll jump back into the series when jump scares don’t bother me as much, but for now I’ll just continue watching from the sidelines.

Still it’s a free Five Night’s at Freddy’s game so if you ever wanted to give the series a try but didn’t want to buy the first game then you could always give this one a try, you might be lost in the story but if you survive the first few night and have fun then you could give the other games a try. I think the only way I would give the first games a try is if someone gifted them to be either as a present or part of a prank because they want to see me jump through the ceiling in fear.

Doki Doki Literature club is a story based anime game where your friend Sayori convinces you to join the after school Literature Club. At Literature Club you meet three other girls, Yuri, Monika, and Natsuki and over the course of the game you make different choices to become closer with the one of the girls. You are also tasked with writing poems every day and the words you choose will help you build a relationship with whichever girl you want to build a better relationship with. There are several different events that happen throughout the game as you play and while the game can feel like it has a slow start it does pick up as you play. If you’re going to play this game I don’t recommend Googling it or watching it on YouTube, this is a game you’ll definitely want to go into blind so you don’t have any of the story spoiled.

Hand Simulator is a fun party game where you and your friends get to play a variety of mini games using controls similar to Surgeon Simulator. You control each individual finger and need to switch between hands, making doing tasks like picking up an item or pulling a lever very difficult. It can be very rage inducing because of how difficult it is to control, but when you do learn how to work the hands it becomes a lot of fun to play. There are a few single player modes but to get the full experience with the game you really need to play it with other people. It’s a fun game for you and your friends to play for a couple hours in the evening and can lead to several funny moments.

Bioshock Infinite is the third Bioshock game in the series. This game made several changes to the original games formulas, many of which were good changes but not all worked out so well. You play as Booker DeWitt a down on his luck Private Investigator who is sent to the flying city of Columbia by a mysterious benefactor to accomplish one goal, “Bring us the girl, and Wipe away the debt.”

The controls and combat are tight and fluent. The world is very open and has several different ways of approaching combat such as laying traps with your vigors (plasmids in Bioshock), using the environment to attack your enemies, or using a variety of weapons. However now you can only carry two weapons at a time which is annoying since the older games let you carry more, but you have access to all your vigors. The story is on par with the original Bioshock and full of different characters that each have their own stories to tell.

The Burial at Sea DLC is also fantastic. Burial at Sea takes place in the City of Rapture and ties into the main story very well. It mixes items and characters from the two games in a way that works really well and doesn’t feel forced. There’s also the Clash in the Clouds DLC which is where you face off against waves of different enemies. It’s not the most fun DLC pack but there’s still fun to be had in it.

Emily is Away is an Interactive Story where you play as a high school senior during 2002. You talk to your friend Emily through the chat that was available during the early Windows computer era. This game has a fantastic attention to detail when you hear all the little sounds and effects of the computer and the chat menus.

The story itself is fantastic, I would like to discuss it more, however this is a story that I recommend going into completely blind. I don’t recommend watching a Let’s Play or Forum posts about it because it could spoil parts of the game.

I would also recommend trying to unlock all of the secret icons once you complete the game, they unlock unique dialog options and are very entertaining.
