Wolfenstein the New Order is a fast paced, Nazi killing experience that is one of the most fun games I’ve played in a long time. You play the infamous BJ Blazkowicz a walking tank of a man during World war 2, however the Nazis vastly outpaced the Allied Forces in technology and after a massive explosion BJ is put into a coma for almost 15 years. When he awakes, he finds a brand-new world where the Nazis have won the war and must aid the resistance in defeating the Nazis.
The gameplay is one of the strongest aspects of the game. It’s fast paced, and the weapons have a lot of punch to them and it’s very satisfying to kill Nazi. You can basically duel wield any weapon you have and clear out an entire room of bad guys in seconds. Unlike most games that force you to hide behind chest high walls and pick enemies off one at a time, this one rewards you for moving around and killing enemies as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The story is an alternate history story where the Nazis have won, and the resistance needs to take back the world and defeat them. The ultimate goal is to kill General Deathshead, the man you were sent to kill before getting put into a coma. The missions send you everywhere from a top Nazi research facility, to a concentration camp, to the surface of the moon which is when the game starts to get wackier, but it’s contained in the story, so it works out well.
Overall this is one of my favorite games of time to play. Killing Nazis is fun, and it never got sluggish and the different locations and enemies kept the game lively. I highly recommend giving this game a try.

When I think of Call of Duty games this is usually one of the first ones to come to mind. The Modern Warfare series is, in my opinion the Golden saga of the Call of Duty franchise, the levels and story are memorable, the characters are full of personality and the gameplay is a ton of fun. It’s before the series got bogged down with weird plots in the future, and super technology that is confusing and when every level featured a “super weapon” that you use once and then never use again.
My biggest complaint with this game is the infamous “No Russian” level, while several people get into different arguments over whether it should be allowed or not, I personally don’t see a point in it. It feels very out of place and that it’s in the game for the sole purpose of “being shocking.”
Along with the campaign Modern Warfare 2 features “Special Ops” missions which involve completing specific objectives on certain maps like fighting off waves of enemies or finding a special item. It’s a fun game mode but is a lot more fun to do with a co-op partner.
Overall Modern Warefare 2 is one of my favorite Call of Duty games. It feels like a classic Call of Duty game before it the campaign fell to the wayside, which I understand the multiplayer is a huge part of the game, but there is an audience that likes to play the campaigns as well and I wish more games put more of a focus on it.

Halo the Master Chief collection is a remastering of all the Halo games from Combat Evolved to halo 4 including ODST and Reach. The remasterings have obviously been done with a lot of care in love as they keep not only the original charm of the Halo games but all the secrets and Easter Eggs that made the game unique. It has been very nostalgic for me to replay Reach and I am very excited to play the others once they come out.
The multiplayer has also been streamlined and updated to be similar to modern day multiplayer games and while I usually don’t play online I did give it a try and I did have fun playing it. If you are a fan of the original Halo games I highly recommend getting these games.

Bioshock 2 remasters was disappointing to me. When the first Bioshock was remastered they added a bunch of new content like a NewGame+ mode where you can replay the game with your current weapons, upgrades and plasmids, several challenge levels and other content like concept art. However, Bioshock 2 remastered didn’t really have any new content from the original game. Aside from a slight graphical upgrade it’s basically the exact same game.
While Bioshock 2 is regarded by some as the “black sheep” of the franchise I don’t think it’s a bad game. The new weapons and plasmids are fun to use, and I do like exploring the city of Rapture. The big mechanic they added is since you play as a Big Daddy throughout the game you can escort Little Sisters in order to get the most amount of Adam from them, and while it isn’t hard to do it does become tedious after a while.
I don’t think Bioshock 2 is a bad game, but I wasn’t a fan of the remastering since it’s only a graphical remastering and compared to the first one which added several features feels lazy. If having the best graphics is important to you than I’d recommend it but if you just want to play BioShock 2 than I’d play the original

Dead Rising 2 improves dramatically from the original game in almost every aspect. You play as motocross driver Chuck Greene who travels to Fortune City to earn money for Zombrex, a drug that halts the zombie transformation process for 24 hours. Fortune City is much larger than the original map from the first game and has many more things to interact with like Casino games to play, many unique stores to visit, and lots of secrets.
One of the biggest new mechanics that they add are “Combo Weapons” which are unique weapons you can create by combining two specific items. They range from a baseball bat with nails in it to a gun that shoots plates. You score extra experience for using combo weapons and they are much more effective than the regular weapons at stopping the zombie hordes. Dead Rising 2 also fixed escorting survivors so it’s much easier to do. The AI is drastically improved, and you don’t need to constantly watch them.
As mentioned earlier one of the tasks you must do is locate a dose of Zombrex every in-game day. This adds a unique challenge to the game because most missions have a short, finite amount of time and a specific way they must be complete, however there are multiple ways to find Zombrex and no set schedule to locate it besides that it must be found by the start of the next day. You can find a hidden supply, fight a psychopath boss for one of scrounge around for enough money to purchase some from one of the many looters throughout the city. While stressful it never felt impossible to locate some, especially with lots of exploring.
Dead Rising 2 is a drastic improvement to the first one. While I was not a fan of the first game the sequel improves on it so much that I had a ton of fun playing it. If you loved the first game or were frustrated with it, I’d defiantly give it a try because it keeps many of the original feelings and mechanics but improves and fixes them so it’s not as frustrating.

While True: learn() is a programming oriented game where you have a series of “code blocks” that perform certain tasks and you must string them together to complete different tasks. Those tasks are usually sorting objects based on color or shape. You must complete a certain level or accuracy and speed in order to receive a higher score. The higher score you get the more upgrades and cat costumes you can buy.
I had a lot of fun playing this game. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible and there are usually multiple ways to solve them, so I never felt like I was trying to solve a problem by finding the one convoluted solution. This game has an artstyle that I really like and none of the puzzles felt very “unfair” or “impossible”

In Monster Hunter World you play as a hunter sent to The New World and must “research” a variety of different creatures by violently murdering them. When you first start the game, you are given over 10 weapons with very different play styles, a giant empty room and told good luck. You are then sent on your first boss fight. While it is hard for new players once you find a playstyle, you like then the game really begins. Monster Hunter is full of giant monsters to fight that have unique looks and fighting styles, so the gameplay never feels stale. My biggest complaint is that it takes 15-30 minutes per boss and if you’re near the end of a boss fight and run out of lives then it can feel very disheartening because of how much time was sunk into it, however when you do beat a hard boss fight it really does feel like an accomplishment. This game really does make the feeling of beating bosses feel like an accomplishment because of how high the stakes are.
The number one comparison I’ve heard people compare Monster Hunter World too is Dark Souls because you fight several big bosses to progress and because it is a challenging game. While they do have several things in common, to me it doesn’t feel like it because Dark Souls is about exploring big and expansive worlds while monster hunter is more focused on fighting giant bosses. None of the bosses in Monster Hunter feel “unfair” or have attacks that are too overpowered, which is a tactic that games of this nature resort too when they don’t understand balance. Monster Hunter understands balance well and never throws in a boss that feels impossible to fight.
The multiplayer in the game is also very balanced. Players can work together to fight bosses which makes the fights seem easier at first but the game increases in difficulty as players join and the money reward is divided based on how many players there are so players must weight if they want more people for less reward but an easier fight with the additional help. Overall this game is a lot of fun to play, but towards the end I did start to hit the wall of repetition around the 40 hour mark when I mostly finished the story and was fighting the same bosses over and over, however the new Artic DLC might be enough to pull me back in when it’s released.

Saints Row IV is probably the wackiest of the Saints Row games, but it’s also one of the most grounded. While at first all the levels and events seem random, they work much better than in Saints Row the Third. In the first 30 minutes of playing Saints Row 4 parodies Call of Duty, The Matrix, American Politics, Independence Day and even Space Invaders and while that might sound like a mess it’s transitions so flawlessly that none of the events feel out of place. While not all the parodies and Easter Eggs land flawlessly there are lots of funny ones that work well. The games biggest flaw is that it is not balanced at all. Right off the bat they give you superpowers which completely negate the use of any vehicle and most guns since the super powers do a good job defeating enemies. They also fill the game with lots of unique and “glitch” vehicles that are almost never used because it’s faster to use super powers. Plus the game has over a thousand collectables and most of them are used to upgrade your super powers so you have incentive to collect them.
Another problem is that unless you’ve played Saints Row 1 & 2 you won’t understand huge parts of the game. While it is nice for veteran players, new players might not understand what happened or why the events were important.
Overall this is one of my most favorite Saints Row games. It does a great job standing on its own and not being a “GTA Rip-off” but it’s not too over the top like Saints Row the Third. It’s found that happy medium and was a lot of fun to play.

Dead Simple 21 is a blackjack inspired game where you draw cards from a deck and place them into one of four columns trying to hit 21. This game is a fun casual game to play. It features a fantastic art style and theme. This was fun to play, and I recommend giving it a try.

Only One Burn is a strategy game where you need to land a lunar lander on a platform. However, the challenge comes from only having the ability to use one main thrust before running out of fuel. You still have small thrusters on the on the left and right side to adjust direction. When your landing you want to try and land as softly and as close to the center as possible for the best score.
This game was a lot of fun to play and the puzzles were fun to solve. While some of the levels were challenging none of them felt unfair and the environments were beautiful and well-made. This game featured several small details that I appreciated like when you crash the shuttle the control panel being destroyed and playing the funeral bagpipes music. Overall it was a fun game to play and I highly recommend
