I enjoy fantasy theme games, or multiplayer.
Lord of the Rings, Dungeons & dragons are my main favourite inspirations, (Skyrim is a given) with maybe a sprinkle of star wars (mostly for the alien designs).
Colourful candy is sure to grab my attention, but not anything similar to candy crush, yuck.

Once in a blue moon, I'll jump back to the old classics my parents used to let me play, like DOOM, quake, BLOOD, Castle wolfenstien and so on. Pity most of these you cant multi-play with. (I know of mods, but I don't use mods. I'm stupid)
However I don't have a lot of free time, so when I do game here on steam, I want to enjoy myself: nothing too difficult or frustrating, but a slight challenge is alright.

Friends make games more enjoyable than solo play, as a lot of fun shenanigans and mistakes happen, but to no detriment. One must learn from mistakes, if one is to learn the game well.
