I love the outlast series, outlast is my number one pick when i'm trying to scare a friend with a horror game.
I pre ordered outlast trials and played when there was nobody reborn. I was player 130 to reborn. I played every event all the way up to the 'Toxic Shock' event. I stop playing for awhile after Toxic Shock because i was burnt out with the same trials over and over. Returning for some event outfits just was not worth the repetitiveness any longer.

I have returned for the start of 2025 now headache of doing the same trials has faded.

And what the actual **** has happened? This game has got worse!

They have added a catalogue system now for the unlocks. So that means the random items you would unlock after a trial is now all a repetitive grind. WHY? the garbage you would get after a trial and never use you now have to grind for just to be able to unlock the cool outfits you would have been working towards before as a release reward. No more running to your cell after a trial to check out what you have unlocked, just a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ STAMP. A number to grind up, GREAT.

And somehow this game got way more janky. Was in a trial of kill the snitch and suddenly the game would not let us exit. The team just standing helpless after 20 mins of completing the trial just waiting to die and fail at the exit. Even at launch the game never had bugs like that! this is something new!

The matchmaking is awful. Unable to find teams based on the trial you want to play.
The party leader can pull the plug and end the game for everyone if he rage quits.
Hardly nobody plays the hardest trials 'psychotherapy'

This game has become pure repetitiveness.. I have a high tolerance to doing the same $h*t over in video games but this brakes even me.
No more small dopamine spikes after finishing a trial and getting a random reward for doing the same $h*t over for like the 75th time. Replaced for numbers to increase to unlock stuff you wont use by doing the same things you have done so many times before, to get something cool but not worth it.
