If you're looking for a short "run & gun" style FPS, your money wont be wasted here if you find it somewhere cheap. The graphics and sounds/soundtrack are great, downright beautiful at times compared to many other titles from the same year/quarter. The single player campaign is short. Too short imo, so I was a little disappointed there since the story behind the game is really interesting in my opinion, so I feel that they could have taken it a bit further, even by adding DLC to expand from where they left off.
That being said, I have the feeling that the majority of their investment was made on the multiplayer side of the game, which from what I hear is better on a console than PC due to unscrupulous people aimbots and similar cheats which ruin the experience. However, overall as a short single player run & gun style game, this one definately has a lot of its own charms. I will say buy it cheap, if you decide to take a look at it.

+Great visuals
+Great atmosphere, with ambient sounds and dark corners briefly lit with sparks or occasional bursts of light only to reveal either nothing, or a minor heart attack waiting to pounce.
+Mission driven for the most part, with guides to help you find your way and a log to keep track of your progress. Meaning if you set this aside for a bit and come back, you don't have to start all over because you've forgotten what you're doing.
+Ranged and Melee mechanics, as well as physics play a large part of the combat experience and there are many gadgets, weapons, and tactics to chose from.
+Comfortable and responsive controls with XBox360 gamepad, or mouse and
keyboard.

-This game series is NOT for people who can't handle stress or intense games.

I can't say much about the second one yet since I bought the bundle and I'm playing through the first one before I try the next in the series, but if it's even close to the experience that this one is offering
