fun game, interesting choices and outcomes, and good gameplay. Been playing hot-seat co-op with the roomie where we take turns with a gamepad after a while or after a spectacular fail, and having a great time and a good amount of laughs.

Fun little game, some people take it seriously, even more people have fun answering their own questions on what happens to a sim that has no access to doors to get out of locked rooms, or a working toilet.

Son talked me into buying it so we could play together, ended up playing solo and outpacing him.

This game strikes me as another attempt by an ambitious dev team to seriously try to do too much in a game, all while the people behind them desperately try to keep their ideals reasonable. Suprisingly though, this game after falling on its face, manages to get back up in a unique style that's not at all bad, if not a little vague at times.
The graphics update was a happy surprise, along with all the other little touches. It can be a walking simulator if that's what you're after, although you can disable a lot of the unpleasant stuff like PVP if you prefer a tame experience as well. There's also a wide variety list of things to find, random events, crafting, building parts for your base, among several other things that I'm forgetting as I type this.

Excellent game, that makes to a return to the form it had in the earlier X series; such as being able to choose and upgrade your own ships, etc. Its only getting better as they continue to polish out some of the bugs and kinks over time. I will mention that the save/load times are headache, and I have hopes that they will take steps to improve this. With the addition of the expansions, I can only expect bigger and better things.

A game with a grand vision. It has interesting but challenging mechanics, and great visuals, but sadly ended development before it could be finished. There's still some fun to be had here, however I can't foresee any long-term support from the player base so I can't recommend it unless you just want to mess about in single player game or private servers with as a time sink.

Loving the game so far. Of course there's still several initial release snags that I'm fairly certain have a lot to do with Steam shifting to some new approaches with the friends list and built-in voice chat, but fortunately Ive been able to avoid most of them... Its the monsters that melt my face, not the software. I cant even begin to explain how happy I was that the MH series was coming to my platform of choice for the first time in over a decade(played and loved it on the PS2, and dealt with it briefly on the Wii before nintendo turned their backs on everyone playing their few online titles when gamespy went down.)

1st off, I have to admit I watched the trailers and the music they used for them had me hooked and had me amped to immerse myself in a world somewhat like firefly like what was depicted. Of course I immediately looked into that to see if the in-game soundtrack was similar or if it was all one big bullshot, before I made the purchase. The graphics aren't amazing compared to some others certainly, but they work well enough and add somewhat of a gritty feel and atmosphere to the game which all works in it's favor. They've presented space as somewhat colorful, and lively place that isn't necessarily welcoming. Truth be told, in my own subjective opinion the trailers only present half of what you're actually getting. From my initial impression this game actually lives up to the hype... amazing, i know. That being said, the story may have more depth, but the initial hook of trying to find your lost black-sheep aunt seems kinda 'typical' in some senses, but it works for a lead in and it grows from there to introduce you to all sorts(aliens, robots, swindlers, hooligans, etc) as it progresses. The voice acting isn't used for everything so there is some reading involved, but what is voiced is done well which is another step bonus as space games tend to feel like campy troped up amature hour most of the time any more.

I will add a few caveats here though, if you're expecting something complicated and fiddly.. don't. It's big starship battles certainly, and the controls are somewhat reminiscent of perhaps the ship battles in AC: Black Flag which isn't a bad thing. It's more arcadey at heart, although the underlying system is much more than that.. Its just presented in such a way that's very easy to sink into and enjoy in a light hearted way. The controls in general are also very easy and no more or less than what they need to be for this type of title. Played it with a mouse and keyboard but I'm going to be testing the gamepad side of it next, also I noted that on the launcher there was an option to select Ps4 button prompts so if thats the type you're using they've got you covered which is nice and I wish more devs would take note of that.

To be fair I'm not very far into it, but even if it's just a short game there's plent of sandbox content in there with tons of random events some of which feel like they were deliberately put there to troll you; such as mercenaries and other factions spewing out the occasional distress beacon, only to fly off when you arrive... I'm assuming they're trying to bait smaller targets and not necessarily something bristling with guns and the ability to resolve minor disputes with an unplanned sudden finality.

As it stands, I'm already looking forward to my next session. So if you are looking for a good sci-fi sandbox romp with somewhat typical plot, I'd say this is a good one to check out.

+ Good graphics. Probably not the best ever but considering the limited amount of options in this game genre, this particular title is one of the best.
+ Storyline, or Open ended sandbox gamestyle. Be what you want, how you want, when you want.
+ Moddable with TONS of community support.
+ Optional Flightstick or Gamepad support and it doesn't feel like it was just kinda tossed in as an afterthought like some titles.

- Can be laggy on systems even a little above the minimum system requirements.
- Not multi-threaded, so there's really no performance advantage on this title beyond what your operating system offers. So some mods can really tax what would normally be an adequate CPU. If you're going to run lots of mods, especially ones that much around with the AI or factions. Expect to see some chop unless you have at least a 3.0ghz CPU.

Other than that, this is probably one of my favorite titles
