I am going to make this easy for you, if you like Action RPGs, survival games or boats you will love this game because it is an amazingly well made near masterpiece. The game is amazing, it ate my entire first two days of owning it and I dreamed about it last night.

With the fun summary over let's get down to the meat.

Building: The building system is a prefabricated snap based system that allows free placement >> THIS << is what every other game with base building is missing, the ability to really do what I want how I want it. There are a couple of issues with hit boxes colliding and disallowing placement but I have always been able to find the sweet spot to get those objects placed where I want them with a little tenacity.

Terraforming: This reminds me of Wurm's terraforming but without it taking 1000 years to do anything, its satisfying and ends up being a pleasure to do once you get the hang of it.

Combat: The combat is tight and varied, you start out with very few choices of weapon but those expand VERY quickly, there are tools that can also be used as weapons. The parry system is absolutely perfect but I am not sure I like the dodge button combination. Overall I love engaging in combat, especially with enemies that should tear me to shreds under normal circumstances.

The World: The world of Valheim is absolutely breathtaking, which is a bit insane considering the choice to use low resolution textures, but it not only works, rather I don't think anything else would make me feel so immersed in this world wanting to explore more just to see what the next Biome looks like.

Boats: This is just, I mean, wow. The music that plays when you are piloting a boat, the waves crashing down, the changes in wind direction... this is perfection in play.

This game is early access, and it still has issues to solve and I am assuming content to add but as it stands this game is now my favorite survival game beating out 7D2D, Empyrion and The Forest as a well rounded experience that keeps me coming back for more.

TLDR; I have spent about 30 hours making a little town and loved every minute of it.
