The weapons don't feel good to use, and the game suffers from the "Back to Saturn X" syndrome seen in the Doom community, where the levels are just too. Gosh. Darned. Long. Sure, the levels look good, and are technically well designed, but every single one overstays its welcome and is a tedious slog to get through. And maybe this is just me, but the game feels like it's missing soul.

A masterpiece of design. Very small in terms of content, but that content is super replayable and ball-crushingly hard.

A highly underrated little gem that doesn't look like much on the surface but is actually extremely well-designed. Tense, oppressive, and will beat you to a pulp. I wish this roguelite was talked about more.

This game makes you rotten inside. I have never been a more toxic person than when I played Dota. Please do yourself a favor and don't touch this game.

On paper you'd expect this to be an improvement over the first game... it wasn't. Imagine doing the same dungeon layout over and over dozens of times to get character upgrades. A lot of systems are basically downgraded from the previous game as well, and while the story of the first game was weak, this one was just straight up bad.

In some ways this feels like it was made by Ubisoft instead of Techland. The whole game reeks of wasted potential.

The story's arguably better than Doom Eternal, but going back to this from Eternal makes you feel a little... neutered in comparison. It's still a very, very good game in its own right. Regarding side modes, Snapmap was more of a gimmick than anything, and the PvP multiplayer was outsourced to a former Halo multiplayer support studio; most people don't like it, and last I checked it's pretty dead.

If you're playing through the Doom series for the first time and haven't played Doom Eternal yet, I highly recommend this.

It was so promising at first. The community started off incredible. Then people discovered that this game, which was intended to be slower-paced, had speed demon movement and turning, allowing for sweatlord plays. Then the devs royally messed up the audio. And didn't fix either problem.

This game sold like hotcakes initially. Max playercount of 86k. The 3 devs made millions... then never hired more developers. There hasn't been an update in over a year, and while they did show off a lot of work in devcasts that happened since that last update, there's been complete radio silence since last spring. Most people have assumed the devs abandoned the game, and the playercount has continued to decline, which over the last few months has hovered around 1200 players on average.

Me? I've given up on it. I had my fun and the devs are incommunicado. There are better ways to spend $15.

I bought this game before the 2.0 update. It was so unfun I almost refunded it.

After 2.0, I became obsessed with this game. The world isn't exactly the deepest in terms of interaction, with most NPCs being either filler civilians you can't talk to or bad guys to shoot. The physics aren't the best as well, although it doesn't detract from the driving much. HOWEVER: the combat loop and systems are unbelievably fun, the visuals, sound, and music are gorgeous. And the story? Good God. Incredible writing and acting. The main quest absolutely destroyed me emotionally, probably even worse than the Edgerunners TV series. The side quests were fun, sometimes funny (including a very funny and self-aware quest about leftism that only a leftist could write), and painted a picture of a dystopian world not so dissimilar to our own.

Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the few RPGs I have an actual emotional connection to, and one of the few RPGs I didn't want to finish - not from lack of interest, but because I never wanted it to end.

What I would give to sit on the edge of that pier with Judy, looking over the lake.

I highly recommend finding a group to play with. It's much better being trapped in a tiny sub with friends than with randoms who are very prone to griefing.

Absolutely not worth your time. Their first good game in 7 years came out over 5 years ago. They also use AI for their paid cosmetics.
