The recent PSN fiasco feels tone deaf at best and intentionally deceptive at worst. Do better Arrowhead no one here wants anything to do with Sony or Playstation.

One of the best games ever made and my favorite fps. This game will never get the recognition it deserves, which is a shame but as long as you play on NA you can still find a game or two.

Ahhh Pentiment

During the launch of this game I could not put it down I played it from front to back.
However my inability to put the game down could be likened more to someone who is unable to avert their eyes from a car crash rather than being enthralled due to the quality of the game.

Credit where it's due Pentiment's commitment to portraying the history and culture of the HRE and the middle ages is impressive and makes pentiment very unique.

The first act of the game is incredibly strong and the concept of having to be a defacto judge to a group of likely innocent people who have different moral characteristics is compelling and very well written.

However as the game goes on longer the more the game falls apart.
As soon as act 2 begins it becomes painfully obvious that none of your choices or character building has mattered whatsoever. The vignettes of the villagers by act 2 also start to lose their charm as the tension of act 2 is fully undercut by a giant time skip. The act comes to a close with what probably should have been the climax of the game and in a disapoting turn control is ripped away from you character to preform an action that only makes sense for one of the many chosen backgrounds for your character.

With act 2 ending on a disappointing note act 3 follows the pace of the previous two acts and resets the tension with the formula becoming predictable.
Act 3 from the outset is clearly rushed the vignettes are less detailed and instead of organically ramping the tension up like the previous two acts the climax comes racing towards you with such an obnoxiously stupid mid act twist it retroactively worsens the game.

The worst part about act 3 is the ending and the very overt message of the game being presented as a twist in the motivation of the killer.
Instead of surprising the audience with the message of the game manifesting literally in the characters all the ending manages to do is state the obvious while all the characters act shocked in the most overdramatic phony conclusion in a narrative game I think I've ever seen.

This story revelation was so underwhelming it took any and all remaining wind out of my sails and fully turned me against the game.

Despite being owned by Microsoft for years now obsidian is still obsidian for better or for worse. Pentiment is definitely worse off in that respect being one of the worst games of the obsidian catalog.

While I don't think DS3 comes close the the astronomic heights set by DS1 and BB this game is still very much worth a buy. The singleplayer and to my chagrin the PVP (straightsword memes aside) are both good but what really helps define this game as good in the souls catalouge is the dlc, second only to bloodborne the dlc in 3 is amazing and is the deciding factor for a purchase of the game.

Base game : 7/10
Game + DLC : 9/10

This was the second shooter I ever played the first was battlefront 1 / halo 2 these games both hold a special place in my heart and still hold up today.

While I'm not a 1,000 hour+ giga chad I think I have some grounds for a legit opinion on this current update.
A vocal minority has been bashing the update for a number of reasons half of which are not even true these false claims range from nerfing melee to reducing survivor speed to gimping speedrunning which are all false.

There were no changes to the base gameplay of singleplayer l4d2 other than the addition of new melee weapons and the css pack.

HOWEVER

VS was changed alot many Ispots and other exploits where removed and ladders and infected buffs were added which is where I think the core of peoples issues with this new update lie.
The fact that the vs community can't adapt to the new changes compared to the other communities says something about them I think.

VS players defend their stances on reverting these changes by making false equivalencies to rocket jumping and bhoping, while those are game defining exploits and make their respective games better all around I think the VS players need to be honest with how much effort actually goes into sitting in an ispot for 10 to 7 mins, I spots and skips are not fun for the other team nor do they require hours upon hours of mastery its low risk high reward which sucks and is why they were removed (from VS)

It a unwillingness to change and I think that is very unhealthy for any type of person the fact that the VS players got used to these frankly absurd exploits was a problem that should have been fixed awhile ago however its better late than never.

This update from my view and many others is a loving addition to the game that tried to appeal to all corners of the game regretfully that didn't happen but the result is still a very satisfying update that will continue to keep my intrest for along time.

Thank you devs y'all are great and I hope we get another shot at this update thing.

(also a lil addendum the vocalizer spam change was reverted stop ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about not being able to make zoey scream non stop bc you can do that again lol)
