Team Fortress 2 Review

Team Fortress 2 is a revolutionizing FPS for Valve Software. Team Fortress 2 consists of two teams: Red and Blu. I personally like Blu. In these two teams, there are nine total classes that are separated into offense, defense and support. These classes are: Scout, soldier, pyro, demoman, heavy, engineer, medic, sniper and spy. There are also tons of maps and gamemodes that you will have fun with endlessly throughout your time in TF2. Now, let's get into the PROS and CONS.

PROS:

  • Voice acting. Most of the characters have funny voices that'll sometimes make you laugh, so that's a plus!
  • Team Fortress 2 is a really original idea. I haven't seen any other game that does the same as TF2.
  • The game is pretty balanced. Although, if your team is all spies, it probably wont be so balanced. Quick-Tip: Change to a class that'll help your team the most when you can.
  • Community development! In Team Fortress 2, if you're great at designing weapons or making maps, you can sumbit them, get votes, and maybe get your map submitted! Or, you could just run your own server with that map. Whatever works for you.
  • Team Fortress 2 has very nice players, but they can be in rare quantities. But when you find them, try to thank them. Or, be nice yourself, maybe some people will be nice back.

CONS:

  • The community. Gah, I don't like to say this, but, the community is pure cancer. Players can be quite rude, and when you're in competitve, they can boss you around, a lot...
  • Graphics. Personally, I don't mind graphics, but if you're looking for good/great graphics in an FPS, this is not for you. These graphics are more cartoon-ish, considering.
  • The voice chat in this game is great, but not always to listen too. Most people have crappy mics and it's not nice for your ears.
  • Some children ignore the M rating and go on anyways. Sometimes they will scream and cry into the voice chat, rage and just be quite rude. But, like I said before, there are rare quantites of nice people; nice children are even rarer.
  • Friendliness to F2Ps. Free to play players, be warned. Once you start out, you only have default weapons. These default weapons are good, but if you want to change your play, you might want to consider buying weapons off of the community market for a few cents. If you'd like to buy no weapons, you can simply just earn weapons from playing. But, these weapons wont have special qualities. You may also open crates.

Conclusion

In my opinion, Team Fortress 2 is a great game! If you're interested in making things for the community, making friends, or just having some casual fun, this is probably the game for you. Although you may rage and quit sometimes and you may quit for MONTHS, maybe even YEARS, you'll always come back, trust me. My final rating for this game is eight out of ten. The reason for this is that there is a lot of variety in this game, but the community can be pretty crappy sometimes. Nonetheless, this is a great game, I think you should try it and if you don't like it, just remember you got it for free.
