More of what Hitman 1 gave us in 2016 with improvements, and man is it addictive.

There is a very good reason this is considered a genre defining game. Since it came out dozens of games have tried to replicate what made this one special, and some have come closer than others, but none has matched.

The story, characters, atmosphere, everything is perfect. Would recommend it to anyone who likes RPGs.

Honestly, games like this are few and far between these days. Its one of the rare RPGs you can reallly sink your teeth into. Will wait for the sequel, whenever it comes, and buy it day 1.

Narrative is top notch, if youre the sort of person that likes reading lore and codex entries you will realize there is a much stronger narrative than someone who speeds through the story missions realizes.
You piece together what happened to the world at the same time as Aloy does and are just as surprised as her.

10/10 well executed.

I have something of a weak stomach when it comes to grotesque stuff, but even I found the game so enjoyable that i was willing to put that aside.

It does almost everything right. story, atmosphere, enemy encounters, bosses, exploration. In many places finding a Prie Dieu really feels like a relief when youre on your last bile flask and running out of health.
The upgrades, rosary beads, mea culpa hearts, prayers, relics, all make such a huge difference, and when you are upgraded enough going to a previous area really shows you how much you have progressed both in terms of stats and skill, when the areas that you had issue with can now be done with one hand tied behind your back.
Well worth the money and then some.

If there is one thing id want them to refine in the sequel, it will definitely be the platforming, it is too stiff, and there are many places where you have to calculate your jump with accuracy in the nanometer range. Im not saying platforming should be significantly easier, but it should atleast have a greater margin of error. Either or the platforming should be smoother and more refined i guess.

definitely a 9/10 in my book. Bought additional stuff simply becuase the game felt worth more than i paid for, and will definitely buy the sequel day 1.

Personally, metroidvanias are what have re-ignited my willingness to stick to gaming as a primary hobby. They are by far a majority of what I play now. A lot of AAAs feel shallow in comparison to the well crafted art that is indie metroidvanias.

This title perfectly encapsulates why. Everything about it is awesome. The atmosphere, the combat, exploration, powers you gain. There is even a system that tells you when youve gotten everything from an area, which seems small but SIGNIFICATNLY reduces the frustrations of trying to be a completionist in similar games.

One nitpick i have is, having some type of voice acting, even if its an entirely gibberish language like a lot of metroidvanias do, would have elevated it further, a full voice acting would be even better. But that is really just a nitpick and doesnt take too much from the experience.
