It's a mechanically deep and rich MMO survival game, full of reasons to specialise and trade with your fellow players, building communities and towns. The always-on PVP is a deep and complex game of chess, risk and reward, requiring both attackers and defenders to understand the game and be aware of how it's rules can be taken advantage of. I love it.

Both the game itself and it's players can be very punishing if you don't take your time and RTFW Read the F***ing Wiki. The number of ways you can get your character perma-dead are many, swimming, animals, disease, and of course, pvp. While the game generally encourages friendly co-operation, and most players you encounter will reflect that, the unforgiving ethos of this game includes it's players, and player-hunters are common.

The pvp system of this game is generally in favour of the defending player, but ONLY if you know exactly what you're doing and don't slip up. Make your personal claim, beeline leather, build your palisade wall, and DO NOT leave it if your Hard HP is low. And while outside, don't let yourself be knocked out anywhere near water. This isn't the place for a full guide however so RTFW.

All that being said, out of all friends I've dragged into this game, there were many deaths but only 2 of them from PVP (and one of those was my own), so if you make it that far it's more of an achievement really XD.

This game needs to be regulated as an addictive substance, I'm pretty sure if I ever got addicted to heroin I could just go on a factorio bender and by the time I realised what month it was, all neural pathways from it would be replaced with 32 ways to automate trains.

I'm also pretty sure the replay value of this game is some higher ordinal infinity. Between the massive modding community which is fully supported by the devs, and the complexity offered by combinators, I have spent weeks just fiddling and optimising 1 thing to a state I felt was "good enough", in an overhaul mod with a million things, and knowing that I could further optimise it if I took into account the production of dozens of other things.

And somewhere along the line I started modding the game myself, and learning lua.... it never ends with this game, it just keeps giving and pulling me deeper.

I would have recommended this... but between huge security vulnerabilities, lazilly removing features and making them paid only, and ???ADDING A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ANTICHEAT?!?! instead of actually fixing their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game??

Yeah, it's obvious to me the devs can't code, don't understand security, and don't care about their users.

I'd also like to point out for those who care, EasyAntiCheat will refuse to allow the game to run, in the presence of certain motherboard drivers. I have to stop services that are built in to my computer to launch the game now.

I wouldn't say this is a bad game, I'll still play it from time to time, but I wouldn't recommend it either.

I like difficult games, but not in the way this game is difficult, it just feels unfair. Normally when I die in a game I'm like "that was dumb of me" or "I've almost got it, just a bit of practice"; in this 80% of the time my response is confusion and having no idea what the game expected me to do. A lot of the challenges feel like they came out of left field, and figuring out a way around them doesn't feel fun, it just feels irritating.

If you feel like you disagree, like you've watched the game and it seems to make sense, then go ham. Otherwise, expect to feel confused and frustrated and like me, you might end up sick of it, before you start having fun.

Very hard to create avatars for compared to other software.
Most other face-tracking/vtuber software is FREE!
They're dropping support for this soon.
it's just not worth it, even if it were free, there's better stuff out there.

I backed this game when it was on kickstarter years ago, it's come so far since then, and I'm still proud I backed it. The main campaign has received so much polish, and now there's 2 more campaigns!
