Another game that was a surprise.

Cool story, an excellent soundtrack, lots of unlockables, characters, stages and game modes plus that PS1 graphical style that's full of charm. All for the price of absolutely nothing. Indeed a steal.

Fighting games nowadays are all about the online and abusive DLC and those of us who prefer the singleplayer modes to test our mettle against ourselves and beat our own scores and challenges are always left on the sidelines and getting the short end of the stick. Fighting games such as this one are needed on the current market, too, for there are still lots of lone wolves out there.

Kudos for all your hard work, developer. The industry is in dire need of more people like yourself, for sure. Keep it up.

20+ years later and the game is still fun af, even with the bots.

Unless you die within the first minute of the match and have to watch the whole thing, that is...

Really fun and well polished game inspired by the PS1 era, no doubt.

Awesome soundtrack, good voice-acting, cool campaign with lots of unlockables and plenty of multiplayer game modes that reminds me of Jedi Academy, for some reason. Quality such as this and for free is, indeed, a steal.

Keep working on it and whatever else you're also working with, developer. The industry is in dire need of more people like you and less [insert pretty much everything mainstream here].

From the little that I've seem there are some interesting moments on the story (gameplay-wise), but, overall, the game is just way too boring.

There are lots of better "anime-fighters" out there. And that's not one of them. Pass.

It's a very fun game, even by yourself, due to it's random generated enemy placements and smart bots.

But only buy this title if you want to support Valve because Left 4 Dead 1 is also available, for free, on Left 4 Dead 2.

You control a janitor and it's your job to clean up all the carnage left by Lo Wang. Does it look like fun to you? It's really not. It's the exact opposite.

Good thing I didn't had to spend a single cent on it because it came with the Shadow Warrior game, which was pretty fun.

Repetitive as ♥♥♥♥, below average graphics, little to no plot/soundtrack and a short campaign. But fun, nonetheless.

Best-looking maps of the slasher genre and the bots are not absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, like on the first one. Which is good.

They went way too overboard with the fantasy, however. I like such games more when the coat of paint is dark and gritty. Gameplay is nothing of awe, either. Mordhau does it better.

Beware: Game is full of micro-transactions and it even has one of those disgusting battle-passes.

Has no technical issues, graphics and the soundtrack are alright but everything else is just way too boring. ESPECIALLY the plot.

The peak was Handsome Jack. Series should've died with a bang along with him.

I was aware of the online shutdown before buying the game but I didn't knew ♥♥♥♥ about how the bots are completely braindead.

There are very few private servers running (along with very few players), yes, but I don't recommend joining any because some have a ping that's way too high while others kick you, no questions asked. Not to mention the fact that you're connecting through God knows where, to begin with.

Regardless. Chivalry 1 beats Chivalry 2 in pretty much everything, save for the graphics, obviously, given the fact that it's an old game, when compared to it's sequel. The cherry of the cake, however, is it's atmosphere.

Chiv 2 has LOTS of stupid fantasy-based everything plus that middle-eastern setting is just not good, period. Chiv 1, on the other hand, is gritty and grounded. Which, for a medieval slasher, should be the norm.

You can still play offline but there's close to nil fun to be had because you're stuck in free-for-all and that's it because the best game mode, Objectives, is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ unplayable thanks to them ♥♥♥♥♥♥ bots, like stated earlier. They just:
1)Do nothing.
2)Get stuck.
3)Run in circles. And...
4)Just mindlessly kill each other, instead of, I don't know, going after the objective?!

There's more fun to be had with deathmatches elsewhere. On games MUCH older, even. Plus you absolutely CANNOT unlock ANYTHING when playing offline, which is a major turn-off, as well.

Honestly, if it was up to me the game would be taken out from the store for it's pretty much broken.
