An adorable and often humorous Zelda-inspired game where you play as a gator going on mini quests to make friends and unlock new tools for easier exploration around the island; with an underlying story about the passage of time and spending it on what's important.

Great game, "100%" it in 8 hours and I look forward to watching the community figure out the third layer of secrets.

Super difficult game to describe though.
If I had to compare it to something it would have to be like, uhhh... Halo 2 meets Halo 3

the fun parts about this game got butchered by balance patches...

Old sword and hammer are dead, now you're left with slow, unfun weapons and awful relics that still exist in the pool untouched. Gee, thanks, game for the 1 hp every room, glad I have it. Let me also take 2 of the 6 viable spells out of a pool of like 30 while I'm at it too.

The only good thing about this game is that it has multiplayer- which, if I might add, has on several occasions bugged out and caused me to get stuck behind invisible walls where we can't progress any further since it requires everyone at the door to go to the next room. And guess what? There's no hot-dropping. You can't leave and come back. What's that? You were an hour into an endless run? Oh well. See ya next time!

Great game, but the playerbase is the most toxic cesspool in all of gaming.

The only platform I've blocked more people on than RL is Steam from all the scammers. Yes- the community in this game is only one step down from spam bots designed to steal your account and inventory.

The only thing the devs have implemented against it is to disable chat entirely, something I've only ever turned on in this game and Overwatch; plus with the game failing to see any meaningful updates and Fortnite stealing the brand for their own instead of improving RL- This game's dead in the water and should be abandoned.

They took away family share for DLC.
I'm not paying $132 to get the DLC I already owned, prestiged, and mastered back.

This game was cursed from the start. (TL;DR at the bottom)

Okay, the title might be a bit of a stretch, since the only fun part about this game were the humble beginnings. The balance felt right and getting new cards and showing them off to your friends was fun and exciting. Figuring out how to use your cards wisely and developing strategies about saving cards for later was cool. Being able to win through skill led to great tense moments and close games.

But oh lord how the mighty have fallen. Things have gotten really out of hand now and its only been a week. It is absolutely soul draining to wait in queue for 3 minutes just to get queued with level 60+ players that have every "win" card and combo in their deck and every stat increase/decrease maxed out. You constantly feel as if the enemy team only won because of either A. their time commitment to getting the best cards possible or B. they got luckier when being dealt their first hand.

Like.. just the idea of someone being able to gap you by having maxed out cards or the rarest cards you can find IS NOT FUN! For a game that says "Fück P2W" in graffiti on the ground, it sure feels like that's the way this game was meant to be in the first place. Some examples of this are:
-Locking statistically better characters/cards behind a grind & loot boxes
-Locking unique & busted cards behind loot boxes
-Locking a grind(dailies/weeklies) behind a grind
-Locking skins behind a 3-5 day grind, AFTER reaching the level to even unlock them
-Early 1-3 day unlock cosmetics (card backs, pfps, keychains) are uninspired and boring
-Leveling beyond Lv20 not fleshed out, 9 times out of 10 giving you $100 as a reward
-Not to mention the "Deluxe Edition" currently adds nothing to the game, and if in the future it adds any paid characters or cards, this game will certainly be pay to win.

And trust, if you need any more signs that they're preying on your time, check out the achievements "Full-time job" and "I can stop whenever I want", both expecting you to get 10,000 quickplay wins, and open 250 packs respectively. For reference, if every game took 5 minutes (not accounting for queue/free time), it would take you 833 hours to get this achievement; and that's only if you go on a 10,000 winning streak.

Like, most people are not going to play this game religiously, and the ones that DO will earn all the best gear in the game and will scare any chance of new blood/a casual audience far far away. If the devs couldve been happy with just creating a nice indie party game experience targeted towards having fun with friends instead of trying to get you to spend all your time in the game to MAYBE unlock a morsel of new content, this title wouldve been way better.

Here comes the rant portion of the review because oh my lord this game has no balance whatsoever. Let me touch on some of the things they let slide in this game real quick.
BTW everything beyond this point is gonna sound like moon runes to anyone who doesn't own the game so feel free to check out here.
(and yes, I'm going to miss card/combos, theres too many busted things to pair together to do this properly, these are moreso the ones that stand out in my mind as of writing this)

Win cards:
-No Jump
In a game where you have to jump around to get anywhere/not get shot/blown up/sliced, who would've thought not being able to jump for 30+ seconds was game ending

-Boomstick
Its one of the top 3 weapons in the game. Is only countered by speed down but if youre haru/newton or have any kind of speed/accuracy up, it doesnt matter

-Bomb Belt
The fact that this card gives you 4 chances at landing an instant kill is insane. Especially for 2 cost in your deck.

-Mind Blowing
Self explanatory. Gives the ability to instant kill. Only full counter is tin man.

-Katana
Insane this weapon got past playtesting. Personally I prefer the shotgun since it does the same thing better, but the ability to block and being able to spawn in with this as Sable secures this spot.

Winning combos:
-Poison Bullets + Brasshopper
Self explanatory. Poison is based off of hits, not damage. Brasshopper shoots fast.

-Move Slower/Faster/Energy Drink + Boomstick/Katana
Honestly just being able to move faster than the enemy is way more valuable than it looks.

-Big Head/Bullet Time + Mind Blowing
I've ended rounds in 3 seconds with this.

Honorable Mentions:
-Rubber/Steel Bullets
Yeah, doing more/taking less damage in an interaction where two players both hit their shots is just a win, only a mention because it has some counterplay

-Punch-R
Recent nerf made this much worse and easily countered by rubber bullets, not to mention the recent increase of Lars players due to this card and bomb abuse

-Heartless
Not a single person I played against until recently knew that the heartless player left their heart on the ground. Everyone was just running away until they drained their health pool.

TL;DR
Everything is a grind, game winning and statistically better gear is locked behind a loot box system, cosmetics take days to get and aren't exciting/cool at all, card & game balance is abysmal, should've focused on being a fun indie party game instead.

If you need any reference to how much I love this game, I've sunk 30 hours into Revita in the past 3 days. The game's fantastic.

I absolutely ADORE everything about this game; the gameplay loop, the game mechanics, the artstyle, the secrets, everything!
You can really tell that the devs put so much love, care and time into this game wherever you look.
There's literally secrets and beautiful artwork around every turn.
The most popular negative reviews talk about the HP system being a problem, but like... that's the main mechanic; Why'd you buy it if you didn't want to have the back and forth between healthy and wealthy?
It's the most addicting part of the game for me, bargaining with myself seeing how much HP I'm willing to spend on potential greatness.
Am I willing to spend all my health and just be left with half a shield? Should I play it safe since I'm on the later floors? Should I spend my only key now and hope for another one or wait for the shop, where I can spend even more HP on pickups and relics?
And I haven't even touched on the curse system in play, oh my god.
Lets say you want something free or something extremely powerful: there's probably a curse on it. A choice between 2 negative traits as payment for the immense power you're about to get. Could be darkness, less soul drops, properties that mess with combat or your ability to heal, different effects on enemy death, etc.
And like any game I sink huge amounts of time into, there are so many little secrets and unlocks that keep me hooked. It even shows you basic descriptions on how to unlock some of them if you're ever wondering what you should do on the next run, genius!

It's the constant back and forth that makes this game SO interesting and EXTREMELY replayable. If you have a $20 bill sitting around and you don't own this game, do yourself a favor and get it, for me, Revita's one of if not the best rogue-like released in the past year or two.

the game's good.

framerate issues are a copout, game runs literally perfect when i turned off steam overlay.
(it was eating 20-30% cpu consistently for absolutely no reason, valve please fix)

gameplay is smooth, bosses are creative, plenty to explore and find.

achievements weren't insane to get either, 100% the game on my first run, no NG+ needed.

only negative comment from me is that FromSoft still doesn't know how to make a good final boss, I thought the boss prior was way more final, but maybe thats just me.

still though, 11/10 from me, game's beautiful and you'll 100% still catch me playing it to find all the hidden places & items i've missed.
