This game is an absolute blast of an idea and mechanics and I have Rimmy to thank for ever showing me this game.

The game is in early access, you can see tons of tiny bugs or bad animations, poor UI and generally wooden game. But it's not an issue, it's really fun and it has some sort of charm like Bannerlord or other cranky games. So don't worry about shortcomings.

I got it for free for Christmas, but I think it's totally worth the price. Please supprt the devs and have some fun!

I had a spell that spawned a familiar on a chosen cell every turn untill mistake. I also had a passive that changed all spells to work on the entire row. I also had spell that spawned diamonds.

Result? My sapper game turned me into the most powerful mage leading hundreds of familiars wherever I went. With more money you could ever possible hope to spend during multiple runs. I finished my quest and ruled supreme over the world raveged by inflation.

You should too.

There’s much to say about this game, it has made tons of bold choices and most of them paid off, but there are bumps you should be made aware of before you buy this game or any other Sherlock title.

First of all games borrows all that was great about investigation, clues and deduction, but wraps it in a newer GUI which I have to say its overwhelming at start, even for seasoned players and quite hard to navigate. But what it doesn’t borrow is the face of Holmes which many of us grew accustomed to, but I think the voice actor is same?

The game is more like The Devil’s Daughter than Crimes and Punishments. Fortunately it’s not about a series of pointless game mechanics just for the sake of existence, but it appears to lead player by hand from get go which is a big no-no. What I expected is to find Hitman 1/2/3 equivalent of Sherlock Holmes and in a way that’s it. But there’s only one right way to play the game, it’s very narrow and linear thus far. The open world is at hand indeed and this seems absolutely great, but it still feels too linear somehow, I can’t quite describe it. Basically it’s a small semi-open world, but it’s not full of activities, clues, tiny evidence or flavour. There’s either nothing or an impossible to miss piece of story. It’s not Hitman but Sherlock Holmes, it’s just A sherlock Holmes game.

And it’s definitely not worth its price. 25% off maybe even 50% off and I guarantee this will be a great game. But at full price? Well God knows what I’m about to experience, it won’t be bad, it won’t be perfect, I’m sure it will be good. just overpriced. But hey, it's a new Sherlock Holmes game and it experiments, we need that either way in this industry, give it a try.

I've never played a clicker I enjoyed untill I found this one.

And that's due to theme as I am a fan of nature, biology, physics, astronomy. The graphics are simply, yes, but they do the job and frankly it's weird enough to have its own charm.

What differs it from others is that it doesn't feel hellbent on taking forever and it doesn't paster you with microtransactions, which exist, but there's not enough grind to ever force you to buy anything. What's more, everything in-game is for free and easy to get so it's very enjoyable.

It's just a clicker, but good.

Absolutely phenomenal 10/10 even now.

What distinguishes this game from other city builders are not only beavers, but also the ability to build buildings on top of each another. While some games like that exist, I have never seen this system work nearly as good as in here. The results are beautiful, intricate, easy to build and very importantly efficient. A win-win-win-win.

On top of that water physics are amazing. While they are very simple, what you can do with a handful of dames or dikes or other water engineering creations is incredible. Tiny river dames, huge multifloor dames, reservoirs and other creations not only look amazing and are easy to build, but are incredibly powerful if utilized well.

Bottom line, beautiful, easy to learn, hard to master and enjoyable citybuilder with which you will spend more hours than your average game.

And you play as beavers, that's got to account for something!

I played the game during a free weekend.

I played an online match against some random player, but I couldn’t turn off the voice chat and I was talking with friends over discord. Soooo… they heard everything and we laughed really hard. Speaking some in our language, some in English. There were ups and downs, every shot, hit or miss was so emotional and both me and the other player just had a blast playing this match.

Whoever you were mysterious player, thanks for making my evening great!

And all I can say is OH THAT’S A BASEBALL! 10/10 (Although controls are a bit clunky here or there)

Is it a good game? I suppose. But I barely played for an hour and all I can say is

BUY ORIGINAL SHELTERED INSTEAD

The new game doesn't add much from get go. There are a few additions like this whole faction system and there are some new mechanics. But… It's literally the same game, everything looks and plays same if not for graphics and dare I say it runs worse than the previous game. Yes there are some neat additions like faction system or prisoners, waste water filitraion or cool defences, but here's the list of things gone from the game.

-hazmat suits
-gas masks
-pets (dog, cat, snake, goldfish, horse)
-Slot based carrying system
-Carrying any weapon at any time
-Being able to explore freely on a map (enjoy new micro)

Except that as I said it plays like the same old game with new 3D graphics. Is it better? Maybe, but the original had more content.

I’m displeased to say the very least. The game lost it charm and new additions feel like a mere update to a previous game. And in my opinion new 3D look is terrible. I will get used to it, no issue, but the old pixel look rocked.

Overall, buy the original if you are new to the series, if you are a veteran, well up to you.

Humankind does everything civilisation does, but better.

It's hard to figure out how to make a game about ENTIRE civilisation without leaving things behind, a lot of compromises have been made in all games like that, number of technologies or religious system, but the biggest problem Civilisation series has suffered is that no matter how long you play, the map is empty and not owned by anyone, let alone developed. But in humankind, you see a slow geometric growth of societies, untill it spirals out of control in the last era as it should akin to real life overpopulation. The land gets grabbed, cultures develop and clash, trade impacts culture, religion impacts people's will to fight, it feels more tangible than it ever did for civilisation.

Personally I believe that anyone who wants to play game in the civilisation genre, should prefer to play slower games, I physically don't understand how people want to take a pill containing entire written and spoken history in 2-3 hours and somehow expect it to be fun, in fact I think the game should take many more times longer and be on a bigger scale than it currently offers. With mod slowing game even further it gets so much better. My last game was 1300 turns long (moded for slower seed) and that’s what I call history.
That being said, if you do play on a slowest in-game speed, it almost feels tangible, still compressed, but the major historical events and rivalries, how you can bury some ancient civilisation into being a footnote (like Carthage) and how eventually everyone who is left standing and large enough certainly has assured their place in history. It's not a game like civilisation, it's a bit more like Rimworld, it writes its own story, good or bad, it’s yours.

Mechanically wise, it's similar to civilisation, but better. You don't get just a few hexes, you get a whole region, much like in endless series. You don't just build cities, you keep outposts as smaller towns/villages, you can even build small hamlets every now and then within confines of these regions. Eventually as you build districts near each other, but all around map, your map grows to resemble something real, giant main cities, smaller regional cities, villages here and there, it feels full, alive, tangible, emergent, it's something civilisation has never been able to provide.
Combat is also better, battlefield grow with each age and you bring more and more units into single fights, you grow from small skirmishes into full fledged line combat and trench warfare and eventually feel how fragile world is whine everyone can hit each other with nukes. It's far more realistic than civilisation as there nukes can just end you, but here even bombers and modern cruisers can shoot rockets and decimate your cities far inland. You aren't safe unless you are dominant like real life USA. A game has perfectly emulated combat, culture and expansion and growth throughout ages, it's just uncanny how great this is.
To make things more interesting you are playing as any culture you want, you can change each age or keep the one you like, whether you play for flavour or stats or both, it matters that you have that choice.

I'm very happy to see my childhood dream fulfilled. I’ve always wanted a game where you can build stuff, but also be able to build inside of the buildings. And here it is. Randomly, from nowhere (albeit I watched the game for a long time now) And it's here. Just as good as I imagined.

The game is what you see in the trailer. You have quite limited amount of buildings and modules. However, the game is not easy, nor boring. Initially you play with modules, then you learn you can build whole buildings rather than use modules (but if you opt to keep using modules you will gain more from them, not sure if this is intended though) But then you can build ships and place stuff inside again. Some of these modules can't be replaced. So the more you grow the more you need the best out of both worlds. And it doesn't get easy at all. Problems grow in scope. Initially you want to scrap by, then you need resources for huge infrastructure problems, then you have issues with pollution and bad logistics. Each issue is greater in scale and has roots below. You made mistakes before? Too bad. Learn, retry improve. Perfect and always fun.

Of course it's early access, so there is little content, but if the devs really add more stuff then this will be one of the greatest management/4X games out there, period. Great advisal’s, great mechanics, provides fun for many hour and is challenging enough to be fun, but simple enough to not kill you will amount of stuff to do. It's a perfect balance. Fully recommend to get it as soon as possible even while in early access. If anything you will get more content on top of full game that has been release IMO. 10/10 would buy again and you should too.

I bought the game it early access just to support devs. I played it now after the release. Having conquered my thalsophobia during previous game I spent a bit more reasonable time in here.

New subnautica delivers as promised. More of the same, but in arctic. Is it fun? Yes. Does have great story? I think so. Does it play just like previous game? Yes. For the better part, around 95% is same gameplay. Just different story and different setting. You get new stuff though, but you should expect it's same game with a few new mechanics, not brand new and different game. It's still worth it though and I had a lot of fun with it. I researched nearly everything during my time and you can see my time counter right now at around 36 hours. Which is a snail pace to do everything and chill in the meantime.

If you feel like buying subnautica, either of two games, you should buy the previous one. If you long more, buy Below Zero. But doesn't expect new game. Just more of the same. Overall 8/10
