Backed this on kickstarter on a total whim. Had no expectations really, just thought it looked like a cool concept. Studio have been pretty good about keeping the fans updated, and i think they have made pretty darn good progress against thier targets. Have only played the first level so far, but i am very impressed by how close it is to the pitch. The retro theme running through it is nostalgic and fun, tongue in cheek with nods to the genre. The music is great with its roots in 8bit soundtracks but with modern interpretation. The animation is a lot more polished than i thought it would be, feels really satisfying, and the combat is good fun. I feel like i am engaged in the story and i am exploring without too much intervention, and backtracking actually doesnt feel bad because i am being rewarded for remembering places, which i dont tend to in the aaa questfests where you get a map, minimap, hud icons and a glowing path for the real dumb. I am dying quite a lot but without huge penalty so i feel challenged enough and i dont feel like im being swaddled and fed warm milk. So far so good narita BOOOY.

Death by boredom simulator. Joined high pop server ran to nearest town saw 2 zombies. Ran inland saw 2 more zombies. Found a hat. ran to airfield 1 found a tyre. ran to airfield 2. found a tyre. ran back to coast found a 5th zombie. punched to death. Quit game. 2 hours, no zombies, no items, no players. How can this be even a shadow of the mod?

Boring, laggy and terrible graphics. Even when half life first came out at least it was smooth..
