I feel very neutral about X4, and can go one way or the other in a Good/bad review, but I'm choosing No, that it shouldn't be recommended. Mostly..... just disappointed in more areas, than I'm excited about in continuing to play.

So for the "NO" side.... Missions in game for story-line type are decent, but a lot of the missions you need to stop... research online how to do things... then hope you can do them in game. Even reading the briefing on missions doesn't tell you a whole lot when you get to your destination, and then what you need to do. have to constantly get into a different screen for maps, missions, searching for ships... not very intuitive and doesn't flow nicely with Keyboard commands or a Xbox controller. Oh and no multiplayer, which I knew when I purchased… but seriously? A game with so much design for missions, markets, purchasing, combat, exploring…. And no multiplayer? Was very turned-off by character voice-overs, animation, missions scenes with NPCs.... just very laughable for a game that was released in 2018. Just overall from these "NO" items, doesn't make the game very entertaining for me to play. Very frustrating overall, and can’t see myself pouring similar hours in other space sims I’ve played.

For the "YES" side... Ship upgrade and market is very nicely done. Some great loop-holes if you can figure it out to make money. Love the ship designs, love ship upgrading, flight simulation I think is great. Some people have a hard time on landing, but I think it was nicely done by devs. Mods are out there to make things easier for search modes, market's, etc, which makes good improvements to the game in some of those areas. Lots of videos out there to help people perform actions, demo's starting out for users.

So again, I can go either way on this, and would really really really like someone to change my mind. I’m a huge fan of flight sims and space sims, which you can see the number of hours I poured into them on my profile. With that in mind, I'll allow comments to my post here, so people can try to bring me back in, and would if the comments were constructive.

Meh. Great concept, solid game with no bugs, but annoying. Lots of clicking on screens that could be developmently avoided. Crystals are useless to mine for after about level 8, and just need the second currency to buy anything which is difficult to aquire (unless you have $$$). The price of items go up parallel to your level, so almost impossible to buy anything worth looking at after level 10. Microtransactions are available, but it won't make you better per se. Your drones die easily, your craft takes constant damage from creatures, and you always have to rebuy drones or revive them (which costs way to much).

This game has a really good concept, but after a few hours, it's same ole, same ole, and not too much enjoyment. Could use some really good visuals, like health bars on creatures, better team play, more drone types, and please let us buy things with just one currency, not two!

Great, casual game creation and very entertaining! Huge community out there to get you started, and keep you engaged. Can write your own plugins with JavaScript, which is easy to learn. Also, many plugins freely available from other authors. Too, it's very very very easy to get this up on a site, in HTML5, and not too difficult to get an Android port of your game running.

Unless you have been playing this for 10+ years, not worth starting. Very complicated gamepaly, skill level is really high for even moderate gamers to get involved into, screen cluttered with all kinds of crap. You'll need 20+ hours a week, without Omega is a waist of your time and thats a monthly fee. You simply won't catch up to users playing for 10 years wtih 10 years experince in the game. If you love space games, I can see where this is very eye-catching, but so many better space type games out there.

Very addictive, high replay value! Nice procedurly (if thats a word) based generator for your custom planet scenerios, with nice vairable settings, to make each experience very unique. Make a planet easy or difficult, it's up to you. Nice co-op style multiplayer, hunt down aliens together!

For learning there is a sandbox level, with all enabled cheats.

Mods are available for the game, just to make some things easier to do, or a better overall experience.

I see great potential, when it's out for general release. I would expect Add-Ons from the developers, just on how the game looks to be developed. From playing, you honeslty wouldn't know that it's not a full release yet!

If you have a Vive or Rift, this is the best game to play, hands down! Don't be fooled by only being able to play with a keyboard. I've been playing with the Rift / XBox One controller (sometimes Steam Controller) and it's a much better experience!

Get the Horizons expansion. This allows you to land on waste planets and moons. You also get to drive a SRV on the planet.... with VR.

You also don't have to play Multiplayer (or they call it open play). Everything available with Solo Play, no restrictions.

Some say it's repetitive, to lengthy for travel betwen planets. Those people should stick to CoD, and go play their Playstation 4 and STFU.
