The visuals are actually quite impressive, atmosphere is great, voice acting is fantastic for the most part and the plot (as far as I've gotten) is intriguing. For the price, this game is absolutely worth picking up. I know this is only chapter 01 but I can't wait to see what the team behind this has in store for the future.

Fans of Prey (2017) and the SCP stuff will absolutely LOVE this game. Even if you have no knowledge of the SCP universe, you should still pick this game up!

Fantastic so far, a bit easier and more forgiving than Severed Steel but still tricky in ways. I haven't put a ton of time into it yet but I played the demo a bit and it's just as fun.

A super sick movement system, fluid gun-play, the setting... it's all just fantastic. Dev really outdid himself with this release. I HIGHLY recommend buying this game and his previous work "Severed Steel"!

I already own this game on Epic Games but it's so good and I want to support the developer so I bought it here too.

I HIGHLY recommend checking this game out, as well as his new game "Echo Point Nova". They are genuinely great and super fun.

I modded every song that plays in the Regalia to be Komm, süsser Tod. Saving the world while destroying the hopes of the gang is how the devs intended for this game to be played.

I have marginally less time in this compared to almost everyone else reviewing but this and Severed Steel are some of the most fun I've had in any game that's singleplayer (even though the full release of EPN will have multi).

Man I didn't realize this had been delisted, RIP The Free Ones. Although born from A Story About My Uncle, you were distinctly different and unique.

UPDATED: Well they took the free membership thing and expanded on it, that's a good sign. They also just released a pretty massive update (for free) so I do think it's worth at least changing my review to positive. They still have a lot of work to do but they are definitely on the right track, just make the first arc free KingsIsle.



OLD REVIEW: Did I pay $10 just to grind the absolute hell out of this game for a week and never touch it again? Yes.

Was it worth it? IDK, probably not.

Did I have fun? I did but it was a grindfest.

Do I recommend this game to people? Not with the entire game being locked behind a paywall system, no.

KingsIsle did have a week where everything in this game was free (apart from their shop system) to access and play and it really opened the avenue for people somewhat interested in finally trying out the game. If they did that again (or made the entire first world Permanently Free) I would be inclined to recommend this to others.
