After some effort, finally i could play the game. And yes guys, it has the same spirit, rich in nostalgia and brings back several years of memories.

However, if EA want to make this game better, a minor update should include:
1) Fix all the compatibility issues
2) Support wide screens in different ratios
3) And finally, maybe bringing back the online servers service would be nice

And that's it, dont change the textures, don't change the music, don't even add new factions or whatever.
We want the game exactly as we played it for the first time back in 2003.

Well, they could fix the Scud Storm exploit, like the community patches did. :D

just change a ini file its no big deal and takes you 2 seconds

You can even change the maximum zoom level easily

An old game like this surly will suffer from crashes. But with the addition of GenPatcher and GenTool, I would say you will suffer way less than expected.
Also there is 3 ways to play this game with friends without lan parties, i would suggest GameRanger as it is the best option now.

Helllo, i am an older player how love this game and spend time with friends via LAN parties, one thing i am just curious about this, DOES THIS GAME STILL CRASH AT MULTIPLAYER"???? because it doesn't has save option online to resume it from like Stronghold Crusader etc. Any reply would be helpful! Thanks

You can also edit the games files to fix camera zoom btw, its rather easy with a tool

Agreed. Is it really so much effort to get in native resolution support for monitors that are used today. Hell give us 1920x1080. That'll be enough for me.

Download GenTool , GenPatcher and GameRanger as the server host theres 40 plus matches being played at a time. Mostly early in the day due to most people playing from middle east and europe. Might take some time to set up but once you do youll be playing better then the online servers they had also supports wide screen
