This is not like a typical RTS. It reminds me more of Offworld Trading Company than Starcraft or AoE. This is basically a RTwP board game without very much unit micromanagement or wargame style play. In fact, in my time playing, I've found that military victory is one of the more difficult win conditions to achieve. It's a good game but play it for what it is - Real time Dune-themed Catan.

This DLC practice is essentially predatory

Interesting and novel mechanics for a TBT games -- the way armor and turn order are handled is particularily fun. Beautifully animated and well-told story with decent characterization for a game with almost no spoken dialogue. The only really big cons are how short it is (took me 8 hours to beat on normal) and a complete lack of diversty in terms of maps/levels -- they are all flat plains with the occasional barricade thrown in.

Great Art style, interesting gameplay... Honestly this game is pretty close to being good. But these squad-based controls and lack of general camera controls are so horrible that I can't recommend it. Controlling units is beyond clunky

this game is essentially a polished, tweaked, and updated Quake. Very fun, balanced maps and weapons. you can usually find at least 2-3 other people on the servers

Imagine minecraft, but the emphasis is taken off of crafting and put more into exploring. This game is fun, quaint, and unassuming.
