Has great potential, held back by bugs and microtransactions.

One of the most predatory systems of getting you to subscribe I've ever seen, massive portions of the systems the game has are locked behind the subscription, and after getting to level 20 even the experience gain is reduced. Not even remotely surprised EA is behind the game. Microtransaction hell.

In a Christmas miracle, they have back tracked the requirement to add a PSN account.

In light of that, well done.

Helldivers 2 is enjoyable enough, not really my style of game but certainly a solid game with excellent foundations. It's excellent to play with friends.

My original review in protest of the PSN requirement:

I already dislike having to associate my game with a service to play it.(Steam) Adding another account on top of that is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. Sony can take it elsewhere. Preferably someplace they seem to be very intimate with given this stunt.

An amazing story, amazing characters and more game than you can shake a stick at. Grab it the moment you have money.

The game-play loop is pretty damn good, and while the story is very much lacking compared to Borderlands 2, it has it's moments. I gladly recommend it to any one who enjoys looter shooters.

I'm thoroughly enjoying this game and am quite happy to recommend it to anyone that enjoys Pathfinder or DnD style games. The characters are interesting and I will happily die for Ember.

The story is fantastic.

I got this game as part of a Humble Bundle. Multiplayer is alright, very CoD formulaic. Single player has a decent story line but the quick time events enraged me to the point my nieghbours were concerned. Thankfully I found that enabling the sync every frame setting prevented them from being absolutely obnoxious. I also lost count of the number of times that I died to something I couldn't see or from what felt like ridiculous difficulty spikes. I imagine that's more realistic but it still had me swearing at the game.
Another problem is the requirement of the game to have a large page file size. it would crash if the page file wasn't large enough and I found myself having to increase it manually every few missions.
I strongly recommend not buying this game for it's full price, which even almost 4 years after it's release is a ridiculously large chunk of money.

While I haven't finished the game just yet, it's a real gem, the sound track is fantastic and the story is compelling. The only draw back to this game is the grindy-ness but that could be an attraction for some. Combat is similar enough to other Persona games. I'm definitely looking forward to finishing this, it was well worth the price.

Seems to be worth the time to play so far, I'm enjoying it.

A masterpiece of a game, so many small interactions and reactions between the player and the game. I heartily recommend purchasing this game if you enjoy your action point/turn-based role playing games.
