I hate that I return to this game just to suffer over and over again. I feel like a beaten eastern-european wife in an abusive relationship. Very nice.

Oh boy... Another year, another "fantastic" CoD.

Even though that I can say that am decent-ish at the game, where I can get a rather positivie K/D ratio and my full killstreak in multiplayer I have to say that the game in a really bad state right now. To be perfectly honest, the game only got worse with time.

In the beta, you could actually rely on footsteps of the enemies to actually find their position, which was a surprising, although a good decision on part of IW. But that got removed - my best guess would be that people wanted to rely on their reflexes and killstreaks like UAV more so it would feel more Call-of-Duty-ish which is perfectly understandable.
Guns do feel nice, you do not have to create bizzarre monstrosities like you could in MW2019, where a Vector with no buttstock and a barrel that was long as a spear would have way less recoil and more damage at long distances than any assault rifle that you could get.

But that's where the so-called positives end.

The new system of attachments is really weird. To unlock a couple of attachments, lets say for a pistol, you have to level up another pistol. Like... what? That was never the case in any of the previous CoDs so the change is really weird. Same goes for unlocking guns. You want the PP-Bizon or AKS-74u? Better play with the AKM to unlock the AK-74 and then play with that one to unlock the AKS-74u, which you would have to play more to unlock PP-19 Vityaz and then play with that one to unlock the PP-Bizon.

I don't exactly know if that's really the case, but it really feels like it - hitboxes are weird sometimes. It almost feels like some characters have the same hitbox issue as the Roze skin from MW2019 but on a larger scale.

Weapon balance - even though that the Gunsmith makes sense - is way off. You can make guns that look normal, have believable stats and are actually performing better in general in every aspect of their stats, but the game still doesn't bring the weapons CALIBER into consideration. That leads to situations, where you're playing on HARDCORE with an assault rife, cal. 5.56 and get only a hitmarker, to only get one-tapped into your torso by a Vector. And that only gets worse with pistols. I do know that the pistols are on the weaker side when it comes to damage output since these are single shot weapons, but these can one-shot kill in hardcore on almost all distances. And that's where it also gets weirder. Secondary SMGs, like the good 'ole G18 that we can remember from the OG MW2 is also considered a pistol and thus it gets the weird "buff" that pistols have (for some reason the buff gets taken away when you're rocking akimbo with any of the handguns). The new Tec-9, which has a 72 round mag as one of the earliest unlocks also has said "buff" since it's considered a "pistol" by the game's standard and the weapon itself can be modded to have no recoil at weapon level 5 or so. This means, that you can get a PPSh fire rate and mag capacity, recoil of a real life Vector or MP5, and precision somewhere close to a laser with almost no effort once you unlock the weapon, which was one of the easiest achievements to complete, since it only required getting a couple of double kills with pistols if I'm correct.

The maps...
The maps are terrible. And with every season we get one or two maps at best. Said maps are good on one part of the map, giving so much potential to it, only by adding a weird section all around it. All of the maps feel like these are ripped straight from Warzone/DMZ, since there is always so much verticality in them. You can straight up climb on top of a huge warehouse and actually succesfully camp on it, since there are some weird roof formations on these which protect you from getting shot from the "sides", not saying about the fact that said roofs are sloped so you can almost pixel-peek the enemy to get cheesy kills. Probably the worst map in the entire game is the Mexican Border highway map or something like that. Literally is shaped like a bracket - long, slightly curved, a bit sloped as well - and worst of all, it's full of explosives cars which function like a Fallout's mininuke when a grenade comes into the 3m radius of it's tires.

DMZ is only saving grace of the multiplayer aspect of the game, because that gamemode is really enjoyable, especially when playing with friends, but that's all about it. The game is really infuriating most of the time, since it allows you to use the cheesiest tactics known to mankind, just like running the Overkill perk and using a riot shield on your back so you won't get killed that easily from the back, while also using a good primary weapon, but I guess there's no longer a need to use a primary weapon if you can just mod yourself a Tec-9.

The campaign is also very fun, but for some reason they decided to add bulletproof-vested enemies into singleplayer which are present in DMZ. Weird addition, but nothing that would ruin the fun for you, since you yourself can take a couple of mags and heal that in 5s just by hiding behing a corner, but that's the stupid fun that people like in CoD singleplayer games.

Also fk Activision for shutting down SM2, XLabs and forcing other classic CoD launcher devs to close their projects by projecting fear of getting sued by them.

TL;DR
If you want to play the game, then play the free Warzone of DMZ. Do not buy the game. Do not buy the cosmetics in the store - which also give you boosts while playing Warzone/DMZ (which is a P2W mechanic) - because these people are already swimming in money and they really do not deserve more.

Truly one of the most innovative games. It really shows potential to become a real gem in this niche genre of "vehicle-building" games. I sincerely do recommend this game if you want to goof around with your own abomination tank. There are some scenarios that you can play and you will most probably have to adapt your vehicle to each of them.

Game is not really cheap, but it keeps on growing, the bugs are patched, content is being remade and expanded every now and then and it seriously can bring you a lot of fun.

I can literally wear a oxygen tank and pair of pair of winged anklets for unlimited sprint, while wielding a golden frying pan, an german stahlhelm, russian heavy armor, a frying pan on your a*s, while blasting some anime-opening-theme-like music from your boombox. 10 outta 10, would eat a whole huge duck to heal myself again.

Back in my day, we didn't have DLCs, we had fully finished products. That's what I like about this game.
